Fight Trump vs the Kochs

LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!!!!!!!!!!

Truly the fight of the cent-, uh, decade between Charles and David Koch and Donald Trump, and maybe Steve Bannon.

Who's your money on?

No, them working together is when we lose.

When both of them are wasting strength fighting each other, that's very, very good for the rest of us.

My moneyís on the Kochs. Ever read Dark Money by Jane Meyer? Basically the book is about how the Koch brothers managed to so infiltrate politics that they are all but running the country. They have knowledge of strategy and planning and thinking of the long-term.

Trump could probably be distracted if you waved your keys in his face or by a shiny ball of aluminum foil. Trump barely knows what will happen tomorrow, never mind planning for the long term. Given the amount of money, influence, and power the Koch brothers wield, Trump turning on them, well, to use a pop culture metaphor, itís like that bit in Game of Thrones where Joffrey throws a hissy and tries to go against his grandfather, Tywin Lannister. Chief Rule of the Game of Thrones-verse: Donít eff with Tywin Lannister. Doing so and things will end in a wide variety of ways, all of them nightmarishly horrible for you.

Well, okay the Koch Brothers wonít get that kind of stabby with Trump, but itís still a bad idea to eff with the people who serve as major power brokers and a vast source of funding for the GOP.

Sorry for going off topic, but that's far from the chief rule of GoT. Being shot through the guts while on the toilet doesn't really go well with that.

I thought the chief rule was that if you don't win, you lose?

Also, don't talk about Game of Thrones.

ETA: On topic, neither Trump nor the Koch brothers will lose. Trump doesn't give one f&%# about any long-term strategy or politics. His goal is to make even more money and fluff his ego. The Koch brothers won't use their influence to push for Trump's impeachment and they probably won't support anyone else for President in 2020, so Trump won't lose to them there. Plus Trump has something else to distract people. And the Koch brothers aren't going to lose any influence because people only "follow" Trump because they need to to be reelected or because it helps their ratings. No one is going to go against the Koch brothers because of Trump, so they will keep their influence. So long as their businesses continue to be less and less regulated, the Koch brothers are going to do just fine.

I thought that was Fight Club?

The big money conservatives have a very long range plan for the country which they have been implementing for decades, and will continue to do so. The Koch's are very influential in that plan. They can and will use Trump, and are probably smart enough to let him run around and act like he matters. Meanwhile, the most important issues of deregulation and making it so that the rich just stay rich and powerful forever is just going on in the background.
