Daisyslegs gang rides into the sunset

I was asked to post the following by a family friend:

To all my ULMB Snopes friends near and far, i need to pass along some sad news. Our friend Daisyslegs (Sherrie Harper) left us about 8:30 yesterday morning, after fighting the health battles she's been fighting for years. Her husband Tobey called me to let me know, and to ask me to pass along the sad news. Feel free to share any of your favorite memories of her. She loved her family, her Snopes family, and, if everyone remembers, her "Daisyslegs gang."

Memorial services will be announced after the first of the year. I'll keep everyone updated when i get info. Thank you. If you are a Snopester, please feel free to share this post so that any Snopesters that i'm not friends with can get the news.

Another memorable member of this board gone. I've lost count, but I think I'm up to a dozen that we know of that have left a mark on this board and this poster and have gone one.

I always did wonder what her connection to the Gang was. And I happened upon the link to the old board earlier this week while Googling "waiting 48 hours to report a missing person." Several hours wasted in a good way.

Anyone still remember the meet-up we had over a decade ago?

Her and I kept in touch and visited each other's homes often.

She got to meet my first husband a boyfriend or two and my new husband .

So many memories.
Remember the cat in a jar myths? She found me a little cow stuffed in a little jar (I had a thing for cows- like her and her frogs)

A couple of years ago I saw where I could buy a pair of leggings that were black with daisies all over. Of course my teen and I delivered them to her- She was wearing a size small then. And immediately put them on!!



She held on for more time than medical professionals gave her

Was that the one I bailed on early?* Unfortunately, that was the only time I met up with her, but it was certainly memorable. I remember her frog bathroom and sitting in her backyard chatting and laughing and passing around the bottle until late into the night. Even though it's been more than a decade, I still think of her quite often.


Goodbye Daisyslegs, you definitely won't ever be forgotten.




*I had a brand new kitten at home and was so anxious about her I snuck out at 7 in the morning while everyone was still sleeping off the night before. I was just thinking about that the other day while petting said kitty (now a crotchety old woman at 12 years old).
