Whatever happened to good old-fashioned secret Muslims?

Indeed it was men of devout Muslim faith who flew planes into buildings 8 years ago. We're long past time to hire more devout Muslims who might have a better understanding of that community and mindset which could help deter such acts in the future.

OK. So bio #1 (from link in OP):

Quote:
Prior to joining CSIS, Heyman was Senior Advisor to the U.S. Secretary of Energy from 1998-2001. Previously, he served as Senior Policy Analyst in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Division of National Security and International Affairs, from 1995-1998, and Director of International Operations at RGTI Systems, a leading firm in industrial automation and supply-chain management, from 1992-1994. Heyman is the author of numerous publications and an adjunct professor in security studies at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Policy. He completed his graduate work at The Johns Hopkins School of International Affairs and his undergraduate work at Brandeis University.

Before serving as Deputy Mayor, Alikhan was a career prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Justice from 1997-2006. During that time, he served as Chief of the Cyber and Intellectual Crimes Section for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles and as a Senior Advisor to the U.S. Attorney General in Washington, D.C., where he oversaw the national Computer Hacking and Intellectual Property Program for the Department of Justice. Alikhan holds a J.D. from Loyola Law School and a B.A. from the University of California, Irvine.
he may be a "devout" Muslim, but this guy appears to have been a civil servant for a long, long time. And I'd like to see a cite for his religious fervor as well.

As for Mr. Shora, he does appear to be more overtly political, in that he works against anti-arab bias, but that's hardly proof of being some insane terrorist.

His bio:

So, if they were lackadaisical Muslims, everyone would be cool with this?

Yeah. We need more white Americans who were raised Catholic in these positions. People like us. People we can trust. People like...Timothy McVeigh.

Actually, whatever the stated motivation, I don't think those guys were devout Muslims.

How is it "racist" since Ms Napolitano is white? It is very demeaning, but I cannot see how it reaches the level of "racist" in this instance.

Yeah, it's not like there's any history of prejudice against Italians ...

No, the same folks whose knee would jerk way up into their chin would freak over the "M" word, no matter if folks were amazingly devout or, like hubby, merely chose to not eat pig meat.

His name is proof enough.

You obviously hate America, so I won't even bother to ask you why you do.

So using racially charged terms is okay if the intended target of the slur isn't part of the group the slur is slurring?

Comment: Obama appointed two devout Muslims to homeland security posts.

Obama, and Janet Napolitano, appoint Arif Alikhan, a devout Muslim, as Assistant Secretary for Policy Development Source for Announcement:

Homeland Security Press Room.

http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/a...etary-dhs.html

The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) is proud to announce that the DHS Secretary, Janet Napolitano, swore-in Kareem Shora, a devout Muslim, who was born in Damascus, Syria, as ADC National Executive Director of the Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC).

Doesn't this make you feel safer already?
Devout Muslims being appointed to critical Homeland Security positions?
Wasn’t it men of the "Devout Muslim Faith" that flew planes into U.S. buildings on 9/11?

And what of the "devout Muslim" psychiatrist, Nidal Malik Hasan, who just shot and killed 12 soldiers at Fort Hood? What are we doing with a Muslim psychiatrist at an army base? Do soldiers coming back from the Middle East really want to sit down and talk with a Muslim? I don't get it.

A least then they could relate to them, I mean honestly how many of these people are 'devout' Christians? Unless devout has been redefined to "People who use their religion and a bludgeon in the political world and otherwise ignore all of its teachings".
