Sheep Dumbest letters to the editor

Nation of sheep on the Obama road to socialism

Quote:
A prelude to socialism. It can happen and it will happen if the people don’t wake up to the direction that the president is taking the country. History tells the story of Germany, Cuba and Venezuela to name a few. Romans were kept under the thumb of the emperor with bread and circus. We have food stamps and the Super Bowl. Nobody wants to think about anything important.

I don’t know why people don’t understand that Obama is gradually squeezing the life out of everything. There is Obamacare, presidential orders to get around the Constitution, environmental rules and regulations that are choking the life out of business, trying to outlaw guns — to name a few. All the while the people are like sheep being led to the slaughter. Wake up, America!

The president has made a great speech with many questionable statements, promising everything. The economy is worse than it was. There are fewer people working, and there is no money for all his grand plans.

Step up, little sheep, and the government will shear some more wool off you, and use it to pull down over your eyes.

Yes, food stamps and the Super Bowl: both invented by President Obama.

Default Her 'fair share'?

My granddaughter worked for two months last summer as an assistant at a day camp. She was 18 years old, and earned $300.

She recently learned the punishment in America for earning a little money. How can a yearly income of $300 even be taxed? She paid almost 9% of her small earnings to Social Security, Medicare, and the city of Columbus.

It seems tantamount to taking candy from a baby.

Don't people know that "wake up America!" is a sure-fire way to have whatever was just said dismissed out of hand?

I'd forgotten that the Roman Empire ended with a collapse into socialism. I thought it was weakened by endless political infighting, then the Western half was finally destroyed by the Visigoths or abandoned, and the Eastern half carried on for a bit then gradually fizzled out until finally being destroyed by the Ottomans in the 15th century. Maybe their little-known introduction of universal healthcare is a major, previously unrecognised factor in it all. Where's Gibbon when you need him?

Maybe she can tell her daughter that it is to help pay for Grandma's Social Security and Medicare. Or is she one of those that thinks what she paid in the past more then pays for hers.

This could all be solved if Granny would just report to the death panels as ordered....

For values of "a bit more" that are roughly equal to 1000 years, which is a pretty good run for an empire. And it had mixed periods of advance (e.g., under Justinian, or Basil I) and decline.

Gibbon is probably part of the reason most people ignore the Eastern Roman empire.

Isn't that a mixed metaphor? But if the wool is sheared, then it can't stay on long enough to be pulled over our eyes. Or maybe I'm just one of those "sheeple" who "doesn't want to think of anything important."

I'm sure her granddaughter loves to be compared to a baby and on a city newspaper website no less.

Icon27 Obamacare must be stopped for good of nation

Quote:
Doctors will have to comply with a panel in Washington that will decide what care we can or cannot receive. Can you say death panel? Sarah Palin was right! HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius can add to the rules as we go along. Isn't that great? She tried to deny the transplanted lungs to the young girl who would not have survived without that surgery.

If this is not stopped, our children and grandchildren will be living in a dictatorship; and we of the older generation will be dead!
Eventually all generations die, Obamacare has nothing to do with it.

Shout Letter: Telling silence

Quote:
Where are all of the “peaceful,” the “moderate” Muslims?

Where is the outrage over the way that their so called “religion of peace” is being used to excuse barbarism, and the murder of Jews, Christians and Buddhists?

Can you imagine the howls of protest and condemnation that would be pouring into the newswires, and filling the streets around the world, if the obscenity being played out in Nairobi had been perpetrated in the name of Moses, or Jesus, or the Buddha?

Of course you can’t imagine it, because such a monstrous thing simply would not happen in the name of Moses, or Jesus, or Buddha.

Where is the outrage from the Muslim world? It’s not there, because there is no outrage to express.

About as far away as one simple Google search:

No point looking for information that might contradict your preconceived notions, though.

Hey, if Fox News, talk radio and WND didn't cover it than it doesn't exist.
