I didn't say I was from the late 1970s, the article said that all colleges had brutalist buildings from the late 1970's on. I suppose the rumor goes up until now. I said I went to College after that period and didn't see a brutalist on my campus.

I went to SUNY Stony Brook. Very very brutalist in style considering the university was founded in 1957 and moved to the Stony Brook campus in 1962 during the heyday of that movement. Javits Lecture Hall might be the worst of this. And considering a large chunk of the buildings were these concrete can imagine the maintenance costs especially when said concrete was substandard.
