You like ketchup on your grilled cheese sandwich?

Not the only one. Tasty, tasty. Also several kinds of creamy salad dressings (ranch, thousand islands, etc). Especially if the cheese being used is a mild or bland cheese, and g-you're craving savoury.

I had a hot dog for lunch with ketchup, or rather tomato sauce as we call it. Actually it was sausages I brought at my local organic butcher as I did want to go to the supermarket. And I also had sauerkraut, cheddar and feta cheese and homemade caramelised onions. I had some sauerkraut to use up and since I only brought it to have with hotdogs.

Usually I would have my homemade tomato relish instead of ketchup but I wanted to save the relish as I only have one bottle left. But I ended using all the ketchup.

Mine is the supermarket home brand "Made in Australia from local and imported ingredients"

Grilled cheese sandwiches and something tomatoey is not a first.

A lot of people eat it with tomato soup...

I prefer it solo myself, though.

Definitely!

They are excellent together.

Grilled cheese with tomatoes. Grilled cheese with tomato soup. Grilled cheese with ketchup. They all make sense.

Grilled cheese with tomatoes and dipped in ketchup are even better.

Do you dip your grilled cheese in ketchup, or put it on the sandwich itself?

I dip. I don't want every bite to have ketchup. Mostly the crusts (especially if the cheese has leaked and gotten brown on the edges). mmmmm, now I want a grilled cheese.
