Skull People who don't get the concept of '404 page'

Comment: when I sent a new rumor to your site I received a message that
stated something along the lines of: I really wanted to send your message,
but you may have the wrong site, I have lots of interesting things, like
bloody bodies and dead roommates and so on. What's up? Is this
Halloween?

You do? Where do you keep them? Under the bed?

Hey, why don't you show your collection to the local constabulary. I'm sure that they would be interested and want a word with you.

Ta ra 'wan,

I have lots of great stories to tell you about vanishing hitchhikers
and bloody hooks
and exploding whales
and glurge
and gun-toting grannies
and hairy-armed hitchhikers
and murdered roommates._

Comment: You have probably seen this before, but it keeps being passed
around by "well meaning" individuals. Unfortunately the origin of this
email/statement cannot be found by this mere mortal.
There have been several versions of this bogus claim in the last several
years. What troubles me is that they are using your reputation to give
credence to their article.
The url given for their proof is "http://snopes.com" not your actual url
"http://www.snopes.com". But that is not the best part, they have in big
red letters "Search Engine" that does actually link to your home page.
They have used a logo at the top of the page to give it the air of
authenticity. The logo also has a link to the correct page. Upon further
examination, the text that is spelled out in java script tells them that
they cannot find the information. Below is the script quoted from the
bogus sight.
"I can't find the page you're looking for.,
It was probably a page about something really interesting,
but the URL you entered doesn't point to anything on this site.,
Might I recommend you try the search engine at
http://www.snopes.com/search to help you locate the item you want?,
You really should try it.,

And I have not got a clue what "glurge" is. Neither does my spell check or
a dictionary.

Didn't that message have something past the roommates before? I thought it kept going.

Blow Your Top

Comment: To whom it may concern: There is a hacker or spam on facebook
concerning a message with a virus in it that will burn your computer up,
at the bottom of it ,it contains a snopes reference link. when you click
on this, it says it doesn't know what page you're looking for, but the
sender has lots of tales to tell you about bloody hooks, etc and other
stories. I just thought you might want to know about this.
