Read This! The Eagles Sue Hotel California

The Eagles have filed a lawsuit accusing the owners of a Mexico hotel of using the name "Hotel California," arguably the band's most famous song, without permission.

I once stayed at a hotel in Costa Rica with the same name. I guess The Eagles haven't found out about that one yet.

Also one in Zürich. We actually stayed there as it was relatively cheap and close to the concert location.

Given the lyrics, I'd look at any such hotel with extreme skepticism.

Is it on a dark desert highway, with cool wind in your hair?
Does the place have a mission bell?

I wonder if they would have a problem with a "California Hotel" as opposed to a "Hotel California". There's one in downtown Las Vegas that only opened about two years before the record came out (and is ironically popular with visitors from Hawaii).

In Bahrain there's a "Ramee California."

The Costa Rican one is a few hundred yards (or meters if you prefer metric) down an unpaved road off the main highway. It's pretty much the exact opposite of desert, though.
