Icon23 Blueberry Earth

Abstract
This paper explores the physics of the what-if question “what if the entire
Earth was instantaneously replaced with an equal volume of closely
packed, but uncompressed blueberries?”. While the assumption may be
absurd, the consequences can be explored rigorously using elementary
physics. The result is not entirely dissimilar to a small ocean-world exoplanet.

Kind of unrelated, but xkcd's "What if" did an analysis of what a mole of moles would be:

"Blueberry Earth" just demands that someone write a Fats Domino parody. Except what rhymes with Earth? Birth, berth, mirth... I guess mirth works.

I found my mirth
On Blueberry Earth...

That's all I've got so far.

If I go out and pick blueberries this week, will that reduce the chances of this happening?

What if I then turn them into boiling jam?

(Although I'm reasonably certain that in this case, any reduction from zero won't be statistically significant.)

Edit: WildaBeast, of additional lines you have a dearth.

xkcd does seem to have something applicable to most things science.

It actually makes a kind of sense. There is a thin crust over a piping hot filling, you need vent holes in the crust to let out the gases from the filling, and the filling often bubbles out between the joints of two pieces of crust.

We need to Moon to be vanilla ice cream.

From the "additional things to explore" in the second to last paragraph:

Quote:
Most likely there will be massive oxidation process, perhaps fermenting the sugars into alcohols.
So Blueberry Earth might possibly turn into Wine Earth?

I would imagine not for long. Fermentation is exothermic, the amount of fermentation going on in Blueberry Earth* would probably quickly heat it up to where it killed off any microorganisms.

* A better movie than Battlefield Earth.

True. Cheese (green or otherwise) only goes with Apple Earth. (But what goes with Apple Earth™?)

With filling so blue

The moon gave birth
O'er Blueberry Earth
Solved our ice cream dearth
My dream came true

A mole of furry moles
Would bury the globe
But if they all had moles
That would be queer*

This world's net worth
Would be heading north**
We'd all gain some girth
On Blueberry Earth

*Not that kind of queer.
**Yes, a terrible rhyme

I thought I had a packet of frozen blueberries in the freezer but they are blackberries.

Would mixing them be a good idea or a bad idea?*

Now what to do with my blackberries, I really should use them up.

A blueberry Earth with a vanilla ice cream Moon requires, to my way of thinking, a substantial blackberry asteroid in a Trojan point for use in the upcoming Space Dessert Wars. About Ceres-sized, I should think.

Probably been reading too much mediocre SF on my Kindle.

Assume Venus would be lemon meringue or baked Alaska. Mars is red velvet cake. Mercury would be creme brulee. Pluto would be shaved ice as it is a sort-of dessert.

I would think we need one of these at both L4 and L5, for aesthetic balance. Perhaps the second one could be raspberry?

Of course, if we really used blackberry Ceres for this, I think it would need to be equipped with some environmental system for its operational crew, becoming a world unto itself.

The world Ceres. That might require some baked goods: batter up!

(Credit to Isaac Asimov for the first pun.)

I would think Pluto is a cheese plate. Not everyone considers that as a dessert, but people are entitle to their own opinions.
