Default Was Sarah Busche Johnston duped into marrying Thomas Lincoln?

Here is how the story goes if you hear a speech or read some story. Thomas Lincoln lost his first wife Nancy. So he decided to find a mother for his children. Courted a widow he previously knew. Promised her servants and mansions something to that effect.

She shows up and all she see's is two children. And says for the sake of him I will stay. The child, Abraham Lincoln who went on to be a great president. Is there any truth to the story of Thomas Lincolns courtship to Sarah Johnston how he duped her? Or is that a feel good myth to make a good story better? I believe the latter mysel.
