Comment: Rogers trucks...please read - Important

Hi everyone

I had a rogers technician at my home to do some repairs. As he left he
told me not to open my door to anyone from rogers unless I had actually
booked an appt. Apparently, they sell their fleet of trucks every 5-7 years
at auctions. They have had a couple of incidents where men have parked the
truck in front of someone's house and knocked on the door claiming there
was a cable problem and needed to come into the home. I know that most of
us would not open the door without having an appt. set up but he wanted to
make me aware of this. There have been no reports of anyone actually
gaining entry but people have called rogers to report this. Having heard
this directly from a rogers employee, I felt I should pass this on. It is
very easy to let one's guard down especially if one sees the company truck
as they are always in the neighbourhood fixing cable. Please pass this on
to anyone you know living in a home(especially seniors) and also to any
children you have still living with you.

But don't they remove the signage from their trucks first?

A relative used to have a used car lot, and bought vehicles at auctions sometimes. It wasn't uncommon for commercial vehicles to be sold with a contract provision that the buyer would have to paint them and/or remove badging (including, sometimes, cars that still had full police badging and paint).
