I've seen a couple "news" sites telling the story of a teenage pro surfer who died a few days ago in the Caribbean. Supposedly he and a group of other surfers were riding the storm surge waves from Hurricane Irma when he crashed into a reef. However, I haven't seen that on any site I would call reliable -- has anyone else seen this story?

I read an article today that detailed death tolls and damage for the places hit by the storm. It did not give details on how every death occurred for the Caribbean countries, but it seems like the sort of thing that would have warranted mention in an article like that.
This is the article I read: https://www.google.com/amp/abcnews.g...%3fid=49765357 ETA: Nevermind. Looks true. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.smh...07-gyd720.html Last edited by erwins; 12 September 2017 at 12:38 AM. |

Koshka, was there some detail that you found dubious? I'm not sure what's driving the skepticism. |
