Wonderful news! It turns out one of my imaginary facebook friends lives in the appropriate Vancouver, and she can get the pillow and mail it to me. I will call the hotel once more to doubly confirm the continued existence of the pillow, first.

Hmm. I have met her once in person; does that disqualify her from being an imaginary friend?

If she lived in the other Vancouver, yes. Girl friends in Canada are always imaginary.

Probably because of all the cannabis coming out that province, right?

Two stuffed animals that were accidentally left on the Seattle Center Monorail have become mascots, since their owners never claimed them. Now you can even buy your own Monorail Bunny and Ollie Otter, if you like.

I am probably going to be buying my new washing machine from Home Despot instead of Lowes. Why? Because the woman at HD gave me the heads up that they'll be having a sale for Columbus Day, and the man at L told me that their sales depend on what the manufacturers decide to do.

Other than that, their prices are almost exactly the same (except for the one machine that was $648 at HD and $719 at Lowes), the cost for them to haul away the old machine is the same ($20) and the installation requirements are the same (you have to buy their hose).

We have a snuffleupagus plush that was never claimed that my boss took custody of and it's become the unofficial front desk mascot.

I like it.

But then, I also like my local indy hardware and building supply stores. The ones that are still surviving, that is.

I make most of my hardware purchases at my local (1 block away) Ace hardware store. However, they do not sell appliances.

Unhijackably, I had a very stressful week last week (getting interrogatories answered and submitted). The upside was that the week just sped by, followed by a nice relaxing weekend where I didn't have to drive 331 miles to pick up my pillow. This week and next week look to be the kind that will drag. I'm between projects this week, and next week the attorneys will all be off in South Carolina at their annual meeting. However, I can't complain--I get to leave 1/2 hour early today because I worked 1/2 hour late last night.

I just replied to an email that was forwarded to me but sent my response to the wrong person. I don't think I said anything too terrible (I may have plausible deniability if they take things the wrong way!) but sheesh! I haven't done this is a while! I am blaming this on the reality that I just don't really use email much anymore.

Bah, that's about 18th century piracy. I'm committing a modern act of piracy and holding this thread for ransom. Bring me 1000 naked mole rats if you want this thread back safely.
