The show was pretty darned cool; I wish it were real.

For at least the third time, maybe the fourth:

I'm looking forward to attending the outdoor religious service in my town again this Sunday night.

I've been there before and it's in a nice secluded, slightly wooded place.

I realized, though, that I still live with my mother and I'll have to think of some explanation for where I was.

Thanks.

I've been elected to the House of Representatives for my district.

Don't recall what my party affiliation was if any. One of my opponents was a mainstream conservative Republican (black American) and the other was a Republican who was further to the right.

I made up invitations for my inaugural event for the other representatives-elect.

It felt even better than the time I ran for lieutenant governor.

Thanks.

Someone I know (my sister I think?) has no idea what it means to let a pony have its head.

That’s a real phrase. It means to give a horse some control back.

Quote:
When they reached the mountain's summit, even Clancy took a pull,
It well might make the boldest hold their breath,
The wild hop scrub grew thickly, and the hidden ground was full
Of wombat holes, and any slip was death.
But the man from Snowy River let the pony have his head,
And he swung his stockwhip round and gave a cheer,
And he raced him down the mountain like a torrent down its bed,
While the others stood and watched in very fear.

He sent the flint stones flying, but the pony kept his feet,
He cleared the fallen timber in his stride,
And the man from Snowy River never shifted in his seat -
It was grand to see that mountain horseman ride.
Through the stringybarks and saplings, on the rough and broken ground,
Down the hillside at a racing pace he went;
And he never drew the bridle till he landed safe and sound,
At the bottom of that terrible descent.
Yes, my subconscious woke me because of something to do with Banjo Paterson.

And also, for some reason, Mulga Bill’s Bicycle (also Paterson)

I somehow got caught up in a bunch of spies searching for an item the U.S. Government needed desperately. When we found it, it turned out to be a metal Wilton cake decorating tip. We just started at it.

There is a perfectly good reason - which didn't translate outside the dream - for why we used to let the water run in our shop, which would cause the shop to fill up to about mid-thigh level with running water (like a stream). However, we haven't done it in a while, so when I turned the water on,, it was something of an issue with people who weren't used to it. Of course, now something's gone wrong, and by the time I wade back to the shop (via a long, winding hallway) to turn the water off, it's now chest-high, more li9ke a river, and there are waves making it incredibly difficult to reach the faucet. And when I do, it causes a series of increasingly-large waves to leave the shop (now outside, in a mountainous pine-forest area, no hallways in sight), culminating in three final waves of 50, 100 and 200 feet tall. The last one, luckily, crests into mist, so no damage done, and when we all stand up from "crash positions", the water's all gone and everything's OK. And the floor's clean, too. So that's OK.

The cow field I cut across to go the supermarket had slightly too many cows in it and this was very unsettling for some reason.

Thank goodness it was all just a dream.

Denmark has a huge inland sea; it's about 60 miles inland.

(Apparently in my dream Denmark is about the size of Canada.)

Not a sea, but Danmark has Limfjorden, an inland body of water about 180 km long.

Huh. I did not know that!

But in my dream the sea was about the size of the Aral Sea.

These days, the northern (smaller) part of what's left of the Aral Sea is only about 90km long, which looks like the approximate length of the Limfjorden! Although it's still wider and a single body, not as convoluted.

I meant the pre-shrunken Aral Sea!

Last night I was going somewhere, in costume, with a bunch of my friends--including T, who was in a RL bad accident a couple years ago and now walks with a cane--I was wearing my 18th Century gown, with an elaborately braided wig (it looked like a piece of macrame, almost) while some of the others, including T, were wearing bath robes.

I even think I know why I had this dream, oddly enough. Next Norwescon is number 42, and my friends an I are going to do a hall costume based on bathrobes.

I was talking to someone in my house.

We happened to go into a room where there were a bunch of pianos, once owned by my mother, that I had forgotten about. I commented that I hadn't been in this room in twenty years.

And, more on this:

The other person asked me if I was planning to attend the religious service this Sunday night.

When I said that I was, the other person left me some money to give the person coordinating the event as a donation.

Thanks.

Last night in my dream I was driving a semi truck that had a) brakes that were very ineffective, bordering on non-functional, and b) no gearshift whatsoever that I could find. Now in real life a semi without functioning brakes would be a major safety hazard, but in the dream it wasn't considered that big of a deal. I needed fuel for the truck, but since the brakes didn't work I had to try to just coast to a stop in front of the gas pumps. If I overshot the pumps I couldn't back up, since there was no gearshift, so I had to just drive forward and circle around and try again. Luckily there was a big, empty parking lot surrounding the pumps, so I could just keep driving around in circles, trying and failing to stop the truck in the right spot.

It is now the custom for the officers of a US Navy warship to hold their morning meeting by treading water about fifty yards from the ship. Dont ask me whyit wasnt unusual enough to excite comment and I didnt ask.

The alien structures on one of the Jovian moons look just like something you'd build in Minecraft.

I already told Seaboe about this one: she and I were preparing to go on stage for something, and we were both glammed up in evening gowns, but she was having trouble with her gown, which was an exact replica of something worn by Donna Summer, and had one sleeve, which was inflatable, and wasn't working properly.

I suspect Ms. Summer never had an inflatable-sleeve dress, but who knows?
