I'm sure that people will hate me for saying this, but I don't see what's so bad about the second picture of Jackson. And I don't see how a comic strip, no matter how insensitive it might be to some people, can justify throwing stones through windows or attacking innocent paper boys.

The second picture is less offensive, but it still keeps the exaggerated lips common to black stereotypes. It is particularly an issue because no other Dennis the Menace character has drawn lips (except his mother, who appears to be wearing lipstick). If it hadn't been for the first attempt "priming the pump", this second one might not have drawn as much ire but it still has issues. Agreed that violence or destruction is never an appropriate response.

Yeah, the first one was much worse. But it seems like black characters still are drawn with thick lips in cartoons and comics. I'm glad to see though that you agree with me about the destruction and violence.

You have a very low opinion of your fellow snopesters.

I'm sorry, but I have gotten into arguements about racial issues here before, even though I never meant to offend anybody.

And people said they hated you? I'm surprised and disappointed to hear that. ETA: But there's really no need to apologize to me for your opinions.

Maybe they didn't hate me, but there was so much anger.
