I was, indeed, going for the Colonel Bogey March, riffing on Hitler's Only Got One Ball.

Now I want to rework it to match Big Balls, though.

I wonder if the GOP is finally realizing that they can't do anything to help Trump. You can't help a person who is as impulsive and self-sabotaging as Trump. I'm convinced that the Democrats could goad him into waiving executive privilege and coax him into testifying in front of the Senate. Someone like Al Franken could then humiliate him into saying something incriminating under oath.

His only chance is to shut up and follow a script for the next four years. Fat chance of that.

He hasn't yet been goaded into releasing his tax returns. I don't think he's predictable enough to know whether those things could happen.

It'd be nice if we could hope that the GOP would finally step in and break ranks with Trump, but you have to remember that the GOP has long ceased to be a political party and has become a doomsday cult. They might be more than willing to burn everything down, because even though they wouldn't be able to use it, neither would the other side which is victory enough for them.

And of course, whatever hurt they may face, will likely be relatively minor. They are all richer than Croesus and money buys a lot of things, including escape hatches for when everything goes south.

So I'll hope, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Joe Lieberman for FBI director?
Just another example of Trump's keen political sense.

Isn’t Lieberman part of a law firm that has defended Trump in the past???

And his resume is rather thin when it comes to law enforcement expertise.

And he's a blatantly political appointment for a position that more than almost any other needs to be apolitical.

Joe Lieberman's voice is a traffic hazard. I can't be the only driver he nearly puts to sleep.

Brad, that was fan-freakin'-tastic. The fake interview lead-in was OK, but the song was just magnificent. (I've also got a strong affinity for the original - I wrote and directed an arrangement for our all-town choral festival a few years ago.)

95% sure we are in a computer simulation right now because how can this be real life?

Have you read last week's Tom Tomorrow? It deals with who, exactly, is in the simulated reality.

That last panel has echoes of this short story, I don't know, Timmy, being God is a big responsibility.

I've often wondered if we're living in a simulation. If we are, it's not one run by sleek robots like in The Matrix. This reality was created and is run by the Spambots who fill everyone's inbox with Nigerian Prince scams and ads for boner drugs.

As I keep telling people, the only form of fiction that adequately illustrates reality, would be those shitty Choose-Your-Own-Adventure books: important plot points come way the heck out of nowhere, nothing is resolved in a satisfying fashion, and no matter what you choose, you're screwed in the end.

This reality manages to be simultaneously boring and completely nonsensical, thus making it the worst.

Sounds pretty much like the "reality" I've been part of...

Blue pill, or red pill?
