Okay, for NFBSK's sake, 2016, you can stop with the deaths now! Another one gone.

You'd think that the death of trust in the Electoral College (or that of the American people's ability to elect a competent leader) would have been good enough…

During work, I heard "Last Christmas" play. It's tragic to think that this was indeed his last. I didn't really listen to his later stuff, though I love his Wham! stuff and Faith is an incredible album.

RIP George.

And may I add while I do get that people are naturally going to be curious as to a cause of death, especially for a relatively young man (hey 53 ain't old) but is it really necessary to speculate, somewhat gleefully and self righteously, that his death was due to drugs or his sex life or from some other really "serves him right" cause?

Grieving fans on Monday mourned the death of George Michael as British charities revealed that the pop star had secretly been a major behind-the-scenes donor who gave his time and money to support cherished causes.

The man with the reputation for self-indulgence had actually given millions of pounds (dollars) to charities involved with helping children, cancer victims and AIDS sufferers.

He was also remembered for small acts of kindness: helping his village in north London get a Christmas tree, and volunteering at a homeless shelter.

I think some folks will do that when any celeb dies. It may or may not be true, but folks who scream: DRUGS!! or whatever will do it regardless. My first thought upon hearing of Michaels' death was sudden cardiac arrest. That's become my go-to theory until I hear otherwise. I think it's because that's how my father went; he'd recently gotten a clean bill of health and then the next thing I know, my brother is calling me with the horrible news.

People are prurient, and cynical about celebrities, in general. But in this case I suspect there's also some homophobia involved.
