Royalty Blackhawks' feathers and the Stanley Cup

Comment: The Chicago Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup last night. I have
been told and heard on several media outlets that the number of feathers
represent the number of stanley cup or championships. Is this a fact or a
new rumor started in the buzz of the playoffs? Will there be another
feather on the cap and jersey next year and for years to come after they
continue to win the cup?

This website shows the famous logo with either 3-4 feathers on it pretty consistently throughout the years.

It can't be true, since they only won 3 Stanley Cups before this season, and the logo has had 4 feathers for decades.

The team had 3 feathers on their logo from 1926-1955. They added a fourth in 1955; their current logo (with four) was adopted in 1964, though it had been an alternate logo since 1955. At the time the switched to four feathers, they had only won two Stanley Cups.
