"Ruthless Euphemism" is my new philosophy of life. Or at least the name of my new band...

Ok, it's not a Christmas song by any means, but it's stuck in my head now thanks to Tootsie's post, so let's see what happens when we translate "Hair". Let's ship it off to Vietnam. And then Arabic, and Burmese, just because.

Why do men hair, if you ask me
Because I do not have hair and hair that night
I am tall and low I do not know why they do not ask me
Such as the death of gratitude because of the lack of the Bread

Baby, give me his beautiful long hair
Bright, steaming, colors, wax off
Let me, shoulder-length or long hair
Here, the father of a child's father was, um everywhere
Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
My hair, as long as God can Anmoh Open Show

Let him fly in the wind and the trees are busy
I give my hair a flea
Flea, honeycomb (Yes), for the birds nest (Yes)
For aesthetic wonders of glory and there is no word
Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
My hair, as long as God can Anmoh Open Show

I have to pick up her long, straight, rough, rough, particle
Ratn, dust, oil, greasy, temporary, bright, shiny
Running off the ball, wax, lime, points
Powdered, beads, braided, twisted, with the advent embarassed
Tangled, tangled, tangled and spaghettied
When they go when they see me in the Toga, they will go to the station
My Toga Bible made of blonde hair
Jesus was like wearing my hair, Hallelujah, I really admire him
Hallelujah. Mary, you do not love my mom, who loves her son, why?
Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
My hair, as long as God can Anmoh Open Show
My hair, as long as God can Anmoh Open Show
My hair, as long as God can Anmoh Open Show
My hair, as long as God can Anmoh Open Show

A dental lament (including seldom heard opening verse) through Geman, Zulu, Irish, Haitian Creole, Italian, and Mongolian.

Everybody looked at me.
These can also be seen either.
Who knows about this disaster
But the only wish for Christmas is as simple as it is!

All the teeth are believed to be Christmas.
Two teeth and two teeth in front of me look at me!
When Dave had two teeth,
So I love "Merry Christmas".

I feel I've been there for a long time
"My Susie Sisters the Woods Live!"
Oh God, I'm so happy
I remember.

All the teeth are believed to be Christmas.
Two teeth and two teeth in front of me look at me!
When Dave had two teeth,
So I love "Merry Christmas".

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year put through Maltese (in honor of my dog, Ferdinand), Swedish, German and Spanish. I stopped there because I didn't think the second line of the second verse could be bettered.

It's the best time of the year.
With children pull the hat.
And everyone says he is in good mood.
It's the best time of the year.

It is the happiest season of all.
With these parties and happy homosexual meetings.
Call friends
It is the happiest season of all.

It is hostel
Marshmallow for cleansing
And dancing in the snow
There will be a spirit of spirit stories.
And the stories of famous.
Christmas long, long time ago

It's the best time of the year.
There will be many misconceptions
And the hearts shine.
If love is near
It's the best time of the year.

It is hostel
Marshmallow for cleansing
And dancing in the snow
There will be a spirit of spirit stories.
And the stories of famous.
Christmas long, long time ago

It's the best time of the year.
There will be many misconceptions
And the hearts shine.
As close
It's the best moment
If the best time
Also, the best time
of

I think I know why there are many misconceptions, after those happy homosexual meetings.

There was something sorta magical about the way German and Korean randomely made "snow" into "eyes" last time, so I did it again, with a final pass through Hmong Daw which added another little translation gem:

Oh, the weather outside is horrible
But the fire is so adorable
And because we don't have space
Sale, let the eyes, let it snow

Its symptoms may be removed
And I brought myself a little in the popping corn
The lights absorb
Sale, let it snow

When I finally kissed
I hate to be out in the storm
However, if you hold me tight-fitting condom
Each person's furnace I

And the fire is slowly die
And, my dear, we essentially
However, as long as you love me a lot
Sale, let it snow and eyes

I really liked the first two lines, but it's the tight-fitting condom that brought tears to my eyes.

"Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" making a brief trip through Indonesian and Corsican:

Do you have a little animal at Christmas
Let your heart be light
From here your problem escapes from view

Do you have a little animal at Christmas
They make Yuletide Gay
From now on your problem will be close to you

This is how in the past
The days of augury
The loyal friend we have loved
Gather near us once more

For every year we have all sacks
If your destiny allows you
Hang the star that shines in the highest position
They have a Christmas life
Do you have a little animal at Christmas
They have a Christmas life

Caroling, Caroling, via Vietnamese, Croatian, Italian, and Finnish

Singing, singing, now we go,
They play Christmas bells.
Singing, singing, snow,
They play Christmas bells.
Playful sound sweet and bright,
He sings the sad heart of typhoid.
Nail, bronze, nail, Bronze!
They play Christmas bells.

Singing, singing, through the city;
They play Christmas bells.
Singing, singing, up and down,
They play Christmas bells.
Mark a good song, let's Sing.
I'm glad we did it now.
Nail, bronze, nail, Bronze!
They play Christmas bells.

Singing, singing, close and away;
They play Christmas bells.
Then the next star,
They play Christmas bells.
We sing every morning happy.
"Behold, the King is finally born!"
Nail, bronze, nail, Bronze!
They play Christmas bells.

I was going to try "Ding-a-Ling, the Christmas Bell," but I just couldn't bring myself to type such inane words.

Bring a Torch, Jeanette, Isabella starting from the original French, then moving through German, Spanish, Swedish, Hebrew and Latin. I'm quite fond of the end result:

I am waiting for my torch, Jeannette, Isabelle,
The stone cradle we jump?
And Jesus, that is good in the village.
Jesus was born and the name of the Virgin Mary;
Ah! Ah! Beautiful mother
Ah! Ah! Ah! The boy beautiful

It is wrong when the baby sleeps.
It is not so much the groaning of the pure.
closing another
The greatest confusion was at the time: that Jesus, becomes awake.
Silence! Silence! Silence! a beautiful apartment
Silence! Silence! Silence! Does not sleep, look!

Soft closed barn
I came in here have you come?
Approach how they fair?
What is white, some praise it!
Make! Make! Make! There is going to be a boy!
Make! Make! Make! He Towards a dream!

My favorite line, I think is "and Jesus, that is good in the village," but then there's "it is not so much the groaning of the pure."

"It's Christmas Time All Over the World" through 8 languages, but none of the ones quoted in the song.

Christmas in the World
Christmas is home.
The church bells linger everywhere.
rickly God July
felize Shenno
was neither born
to meet you

Snow is heavy in many parts of the world.
The eyes are wide.
Like an old San Nick, get ready for a ride.
So Navidad Skrettan
felted for your Christmas
and happy year.

Even if the customs authorities
The tongue is strange.
This call from my Anglican church is true.
In the Netherlands or Hong Kong
Christmas in the World
Nearby and in some places
So, my friend, where is he?
It means you're a merry Christmas.

A little late, but here's "Hanukkah, Oh Hanukkah" from English through Xhosa, Frisian, Hindi, Arabic, Mongolian, Esperanto and back again. (The version I used had an extraneous "Oh" at the beginning and two different spellings of "Hanukkah", but I figured it would help the process.)
Och Hanukka, Och Hanukka
Go to candle
That is
We have time
Improved dictionary tables
We approach you
Uvivon is currently eating dinner

Playing
It's called candles
Enjoy much light during the night
First, forget about us
Enjoy much light during the night
We've forgotten

Och Hanukka, Och Hanukka
It's time to forget
Happy holidays
It came to December
It spent three days
Crisis is pine, sterile and easy.

It's fast,
Chunukah Channel
One night they gave light,
We've forgotten
One night they gave light,
We've forgotten
I'm amazed that numbers can get altered so easy in this process (as in "Twelve days of Christmas"). The Frisian translation, put back into English, turned "Every day for eight days, dreidels will spin" into "Every day for eight days will go the three". The next step brought "Three days will be three for eight days", and the eight disappeared at the Arabic stage. BTW, Frisian also brought the delightful rendering of the next line as "Crispy is a small larch, sacred and easy."

I think my favorite line is "Improved dictionary tables we approach you."

This is an exceptionally simple translation, from English to Urdu to English. The song is It Feels Like Christmas.

This street is a song song
It's going home and it's getting hot from the fire
That's true, wherever you get the love
It looks like Christmas

We are together
A sweet again with a friend or brother
You love all the places
It looks like Christmas

It's a season of heart
A special time of care
The path of love has become clear
This is the season of soul
The message, if we hear it
Is it last year

It's a gift
A pair of fists made by your mother
It's all the ways we show love
It feels like Christmas

We will always remember a part of childhood
Spirit is summer in December
Yes, when you try your best to love
It looks like Christmas

It's a season of heart
A special time of care
The path of love has become clear
This is the season of soul
The message, if we hear it
Is it last year

This street is a song song
It's going home and it's getting hot from the fire
That's true, wherever you get the love
It looks like Christmas
That's true, wherever you get the love
It looks like Christmas
It looks like Christmas
It looks like Christmas

"Mrs. Santa Claus" travels through Wales, Finland, Portugal, and Russia:

Who feeds the glue all hay?
Who packs the gifts and packs the sled?
Who will help Santa Claus every day?
Fatima member

Who loves your cute red suit?
Who does he ask for the Council?
Who will give all the cakes?
Fatima member

It pitted around the workshop
The whole year is a long
Seminar in the center of the Happy tournament
He sang a merry, Merry Christmas Carol

Who reads the notes of girls and boys?
Turn the order of your toys?
Fill all your hearts with incredible joys?
Fatima member

PS: If possible, I would be grateful if people include a link to the original lyrics. Some of these are remarkably funny, but I'm not familar with the source so can't see where things went pear-shaped.

This is Bless Us All, also from the Muppet's Christmas Carol. I sent it on a trip through Bengali, Catalan, Galacian, Icelandic, Macedonian and Scots Gaelic:

Life is full of sweet miracle, gifts every day
The sun comes out and I can feel the breath
I'm surprised that he took me songs
I love my eyes and I know it

Bless us all around us
A friendly family that saves me
Some place on earth, compared to home
And everything I am, where I will burn it

Bless us all, our lifestyle
Always excuse and forgive
There are so many that we can share
By looking everywhere

We always love each other
It's revealed to us
We hear the voice of it
Sing in the evening
We ran out of our anger
And catch us when we fall
Please learn our dreams and, thank you
One of our blessings

All our blessings with a playful year
With good noise and tears
We are available and we are unemployed
And in our prayers and dreams, we pray for all our blessings
We are available and we are unemployed
And in our prayers and dreams, we pray for all our blessings

I'm not sure where "we are unemployed" came from, but it appeared early on and stuck.
