I have to wear a plain silver band as a wedding ring because my actual ring is being appraised, along with a bunch of other fine rings I have.

[they're all rings that my late MIL and Mother once owned]

I bought a jar of pickles yesterday. I didn't realize until after I'd opened the jar and started eating one that they were original dill instead of kosher dill.

I forgot to bring the leftover pizza in the fridge to work today--I was going to have it for lunch, but noooooo.....Now I have to eat the veggie/grain blend that I did remember to bring.

The cafe where I like to go for lunch just changed its brownie recipe.

They used to have gluten-free brownies that were so good you'd never guess they were GF.

Their new brownies taste like the recipe was made by someone who had never actually had a brownie before in their life. It's disgusting: tastes more like cardboard and sawdust without even a hint of chocolate, and it's dry and powdery instead of being moist and chewy like the old ones.

I'm going to wait until I can give feedback without being too insulting and let them know.

IME, an amazing number of commercially produced brownies (with or without gluten) taste the way crockoduck_hunter describes.

Amazon is offering free next day delivery to Prime members on orders of $35 or more. My cart contains $34.44 worth of qualifying items, and of course there is nothing that costs a mere 56.

The best brownies I've had in years are from Papa John's pizza, of all places.

If my experience is any guide, I bet you can find a few items for 55 cents!

The items have to be qualifying ones though. Almost nothing that cheap will come with free next day delivery -- or are you saying you found stuff that qualifies?

Years ago I did this for the exact reason you give. One of my co-workers ask why I did this "Are the ones near your place special or something "

Me: "They are cheaper"

Her: "Oh"

I didn't think it was that hard to figure out, our co-workers got it. As now I think about I am pretty sure it was a co-worker that actually said it was cheaper. We were working in medical research, she had a PhD.

I think it was a joke -- notice the amount she mentioned is a penny less than the amount needed to qualify.

We are at the point where we have to either do a lot of work on our house, or sell it, and my wife wants to sell, so we won't have 5 acres to take care of. I am sort of ambivalent, but figured let's see. So, a friend was talking to a friend, who is interested in moving and basically described our house as their dream. The friend of the friend came by today, loved everything, thought the price I mentioned (at the high end of our range) was great, and said yeah. So now we might have to actually sell our house and move. eep.

Thanks to those who posted about the webcomics Miss Melee and Grrl Power on the previous page of this thread; I have now caught up on both and added them to my bookmarks. And they were/are great! -Grrl Power having the added advantages of being very funny AND loaded with nerdrefs.

I had Toastmasters training over the weekend. Pizza was served, but there was no plain pizza offered. I had to settle for BBQ chicken. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't plain either.

Being stuck at home all day without internet or a car is SO BORING!

At least I have electricity.

I'm going out of town Thursday night, so the fact that Pizza Place decided to upsize my pizza (I ordered a small and got a large), is generous but not actually helpful. I'm basically going to have to eat Pizza for every meal except breakfast until I leave. Although it's good reinforcement to order only from them (this is the second time they've been generous--the first time, my pizza was free).

I will be loosing an hour of sleep this weekend because for some strange reason the United Nations has not listed Daylight Savings Time as the human rights violation it obviously is. Also, DH will be rubbing it in all weekend. In fact he's starting now.
