All I can say is, speaking personally, I liked Rose; she was probably my favorite thing in that entire movie. (Well, and Finn's line to her in the chase scene, "STOP ENJOYING THIS!") Whether she made sense or whatever, she was actually fun, something that most of the Star Wars franchise has forgotten about after the original trilogy.

Ditto. I especially liked her in contrast to Finn, who spends far too much time as The Cowardly Black Sidekick.
