Today I had to drive on a road called Britney Springs Road. I kept wanting to call it Britney Spears Road, of course. I even had trouble not typing that in the first sentence just now.

Ancestry.com posts the new databases they add to their website. Today I saw:

New York, Sing-Along Prison Admission Registers, 1865-1939.

On a second glance I realized it was, of course, Sing Sing... But I'm disappointed.

There must be some sing-along prison admissions too. I can think of a few I'd be singing:

"I shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die..."

"I fought the Law 'n the Law won; I fought the Law 'n the Law won."

Well, those two at least. (Coincidentally I've been playing Mafia III and both of those feature on the soundtrack...)

Recent NextDoor post: ISO Malicious Painter... I'm wondering: did someone vandalize this person's house? Did someone encounter a nasty tradesman? When I rechecked the title, I saw that it actually read: ISO Meticulous Painter...

Well that makes a lot more sense!

I saw this headline as "Costuming in Seattle is Hard" and I thought to myself, yes, it can be.

In May of 2017, the local daily blab posted an online story with the headline:

"Man exposing himself to I-35W motorists arrested after fighting with trooper."

Below that was a picture of 6 or 7 patrol cars on the shoulder of the highway, with several troopers talking among themselves.

Below that, the caption of the picture read:

"A man exposing himself along a busy Minneapolis freeway gave motorists quite a sideshow Monday morning and as it turned out was quite a handful for law enforcement."

I had the presence of mind to get a screen grab. Good thing, because when I checked back approx 15 minutes later, the post had been pulled after someone had obviously had second thoughts.

'Headline' seen on local news station website: Trolls, drones among key proposals for I-81 traffic fixes.

The REAL headline: Tolls, drones among key proposals.....

Oh. Well that makes a lot more sense!

Title I saw: When Conservatives Kill Lots and Lots of Animals.

The real title: When Conservationists Kill Lots (and Lots) of Animals

It's from today's Atlantic website and is actually quite interesting.

Well, a decent troll or two would be a possibility to end traffic problems on a given route.

It might create traffic problems on alternative routes, though...

I thought this said "Concern spreads as fatal deer inches toward Indiana," and was thinking what a powerful (but slow) deer that must be!

What I saw on today's online Atlantic: Trump Has Defecated Himself.

Ewww and TMI....

The real headline was: Trump Has Defeated Himself.

Oh.

What I thought I saw on talk radio website: Chewing Around Can Get You Into Management.

The real headline: Clowning Around Can Get You Into Management.

I did post a link, but there is a clown photo, so if that sort of thing bothers you, beware.
Clowning around....that explains a lot of things!

What I thought I saw as an NPR headline:

Hawaii Sues U.S. After Congress Bans Government Purchase Of Its Equipment

-- huh? what on earth? what equipment? and why would the US Congress be refusing to buy equipment from the US state of Hawaii?

What the headline actually said:

Huawei Sues U.S. After Congress Bans Government Purchase Of Its Equipment

-- oh. Huawei. A company based in China. OK, that makes more sense --

What I thought I heard on the radio just now:

“More people are planning a free-range funeral.”

It was actually “pre-arranged funeral.”

Actually, I kind of like the sound of a free-range funeral.

I'm imagining everybody walking out and scattering themselves, and my ashes, over a large expanse of open field.

-- or, I suppose, you could just put my body out there and let a whole lot of free-range chickens have at it. I expect that would be a lot harder to get family and friends to go along with, though.
