Default White House rattled by McCarthy's spoof of Spicer

Quote:
More than being lampooned as a press secretary who makes up facts, it was Spicer’s portrayal by a woman that was most problematic in the president’s eyes, according to sources close to him.

So, Spicer's portrayal as a screeching, hot-headed incompetent was ok. Being portrayed by a woman? Unforgiveable!

Oh, please! Let SNL hear about this and let Kate McKinnon play Trump from now on! No sleight to Alec Baldwin, but if they really want to get under his skin, have Trump played by a.... GIRL!

I almost fell out of my chair laughing at her portrayal.

I've been hoping someone would start this thread just so I can say: Who the heck had the idea to cast McCarthy as Spicer?? That just made my whole weekend. Pure genius.

Quote:
"Trump doesn't like his people to look weak," added a top Trump donor.
This makes me wonder if they're even talking about the same sketch. Did they just assume woman=weak? Well, with that crowd, almost certainly.

Yeah complaining about comedians poking fun at you and pointing out how vexed you were at their sketch is surely going to make them rein it in and will in no way encourage them to go after you even harder next time, great work guys!

IDK, but I have this wonderful vision of McCarthy calling Lorne Michaels and saying "Trust me, I can do this."

If that's the way they feel, and there's any hope Spicer is on the way out because of it, then I hope SNL casts a woman as Bannon for the next sketch. I'd go along with a woman as Trump as well but Baldwin is just too perfect.

Yes, after some thought I came to the same vision! But I gotta know. Somebody please get me this story. At this point it's a heck of a lot more interesting than what might be happening inside some white mansion on Penn ave.

For at least once sketch, have Kate McKinnon as Trump, and Alec Baldwin in drag as Kellyanne Conway...

I saw a tweet suggesting Rosie O'donnell and she tweeted she'd be happy to do it. That would certainly vex Trump. Not just a woman, but that particular woman.

I wonder if there's anyone who didn't immediately think of her when the topic of a gender-flipped Donald came up.

I didn't, but I think she could do a bang up job. Both in the actual portrayal, and in making his head explode.

That might actually make his head explode. Literally, the top of his head might blow off.

I think it was offensive. Male-face is demeaning to all men and opens deep emotional wounds, a sort of collective traumatic memory, from thousands of years of being disproportionately used as cannon fodder in all the major wars of history up to the present. The two world wars were like gendercide to us...

...is how I would feign outrage over this if I were a Trump supporter.

Would the headsplosion look like the one out of Scanners or like out of Kingsmen?

I'm not really sure.

We must test this, for science!
