Most photo sharing sites are blocked at work, so I couldn't see the picture until I got home. Now that I've seen it...

[pedantic cyclist]You attached the cranks facing the same direction. The pedals are just the bits you put your feet on.[/pedantic cyclist]

Well, quite. I bet WildaBeast wouldn't even have known that was the right way to fix them.

Heading home from work yesterday, I saw fire engines and firemen on all of the Beltway overpasses. Apparently this is a way to honor policemen who've died in the line of duty, which sadly, happened yesterday morning.

A couple of nights ago I was walking to the pub at about 9.30pm and looked down a subway tunnel under the railway line near my house, and there was a guy standing in there playing a guitar. OK, a busker doesn't sound unusual, but this was a very odd place and time for one, if that's what he was doing. It's not a busy tunnel at any time of day, let alone that time of night, and it's also very narrow - not so narrow that you can't pass somebody, but too narrow for it to be comfortable with a busker in that space. (You can see the entrance on Streetview here - you can't see far down it, but that shows how narrow it is). I've never seen anybody busking in there before, and it would have made me think twice about walking through the tunnel (if I'd been going in that direction) - depending where you're going, you can walk round easily and it's only a few minutes further. The tunnel's quite grim to walk through even without obstructions.

It wasn't raining, so he wasn't a homeless person sheltering from the rain. Maybe he just liked the acoustics.
