Comment: FOR EVERY ARTICLE YOU HAVE YOU SEPARATELY HAVE TO CLICK ON

EACH ARTICLE. WHY NOT JUST CLICK ON ONE AND BE OVER WITH IT.

IT'S A PAIN TO CLICK ON EACH ONE SEPARATELY. I, AND OTHER

PEOPLE LIKE TO CLICK ON JUST ONCE AND READ IT ALL AT ONCE.

Sooo their suggestion is to put all the information from the whole site onto one page? That's a great idea! Then we can just spend 4 hours waiting for it to load and we'll be all set. doofus

Not quite - we'd have to be lucky enough to try loading it during the brief period when David or Barbara are not uploading an update. OTOH, this would drastically reduce the influx of ridiculous questions

Comment: Hey guys, Just a little something that might help the site out.

--I think it would be better to organize each "rumor", I guess, By bullet
color, and not the date.

I normally dont even bother reading the red, false rumors. So I think it
would be better to put the green, true rumors first, than the rest in an
other order you like.

Because you exist to cater to my whims. It's all about ME.

Of course it's all about me. Why would anyone else possibly matter?

It's so hard being important these days. No one will take care of your every need. Sigh.

Comment: Please add 2 new general categories, environment and energy. For
example, there are numerous claims of cars that run on water, and I
suspect they are all false. I checked under the science category and
found no environmental or energy claims.

Comment: The current photo of the Obama family should immediately be
removed. Whether it's fake or not (we know it's fake) people will look at
it and think it's for real. Many do not read the text.

Comment: You've made public a page on your website that's incomplete.
Furthermore, as it's now April, and the page is dated February, it seems
to have been up and incomplete for quite a while: it's linked to from the
main Snopes page about the Clintons.

The page is entitled "Hillary Clinton's Resume". It consists *entirely* of
a list of standard Republican trash about Hillary Clinton, a note saying
this is "Undetermined" and a promise that you are researching the
"Origins" of the e-mail.

It's 2nd April, so April Fools ought to have been taken down by now, or at
least have a notice added.

http://www.snopes.com/politics/clintons/resume.asp

There's nothing Snopes about this page but the format: you have no
debunking, no criticism, no "kernel of truth distorted" that you guys are
famous for.

I appreciate you're busy people and this is a big site, but this webpage
ought not to be viewable till it's complete - and this is *not* complete.

Comment: http://www.snopes.com/politics/palin/bannedbooks.asp

I have never seen anything that said Palin banned books--I only saw that
she tried to Ban Books and tried to have a librarian fired for not doing
so.

Would your article be better represented by a title of

Attempted to get books banned-TRUTH!

because that is a fact that cannot be disputed and lends more credence to
your reporting than a muckraking title like you used: Banned Books, status
Fiction

Comment: Good afternoon. Snopes.com has been quite an interesting source
of myth debunking over the years and has been very useful. One issue I see
with snopes.com is delving into subject-matter where there are no
absolutes.

There are many different topics in which one does not engage when one, for
example, is at a dinner party. Bringing up politics is a recipe for
disaster when communicating with a group whose political leanings may be
unknown. The same should be the case for snopes.com. Whether you believe
the "facts" from a liberal point of view, or the "facts" from a
conservative point of view, either can be bent into "truth."

I used to use snopes.com as a reference for family, but after reading
articles about whether or not President Obama is a legal citizen, I was
completely turned off. Until snopes.com gets back to its roots, I think I
won't be visiting anymore.

Wait, whether or not President Obama is a legal citizen is a question of spin?

Well, citizen sort of implies white, right? And non-Socialist? Doesn't it?

Comment: Could you please take down the white bullets? It get really
annoying to go to a section and see nothing but white bullets. If you
don't have a true or false answer than the rumor shouldnt even be up
there. It's nothing but a giant waste of time, i remember when this site
use to be cool now it's just bull.

The ones used to indicate actual urban legends on The Urban Legends Reference Pages? Those?

Unclear on the concept squared.

Comment: Because you repeat the alleged email to be checked in the
beginning, the people who want to believe this never go to the part where
you explain the truth. I have received numerous emails with the allegation
(false forward) and then a note to check Snopes if you don't believe it.
The last one was the dhimmitude forward. You need to put an explanation as
to how Snopes works for the idiots who just re-read the forwarded
allegation and then never scroll to the answer. This happens every time a
Republican forwards junk.

Funny, I always tend to see a big obvious FALSE or TRUE before I read the example... no scrolling required.

He's complaining about the example. Perhaps snopes could set it off in some way, such as putting it in a box with the word Example in big letters at the top and some information about where it was collected and when.

Brilliant, 4K! (See, this is why they pay you the big bucks!) C'mon, snopes, get on this offsetting and labeling thing right away! (Goes to check the main page...) Boy, that was fast! Well done!

Sadly, I see in some of my students the tendencies that lead to emails like this. The following is an actual exchange from my Music Tech class yesterday.

"Mr. Musicgeek, when is this project due?"

"What does it say on your project sheet?"

"I don't know, I didn't read it."

"Do you have it there?"

"Yes."

"Read it now."

"Can't you just tell me?"

"Look at the top of the page."

"OK."

"What does it say?"

"Due date: Friday, October 15."

"There you go."

"So does it have to be turned in by then?"
