Now, that would have produced some priceless blank looks from this particular young man.

Offhand, what percentage of queries that you get about published articles are simply a matter of not bothering to read?

Well, if you'd read the "If You'd read the article first..." thread...

Is that the exact percentage, down to four decimal points?

(Counting on fingers) "One, two, many, lots... Wow, that's a whole mess of 'em!"

4K, I give you lots of credit! I'd have a hard time resisting the urge to send replies directly back along the lines of "For the good of the human race, I hope you're looking into surgical sterilization options."

For that I have to go to Letters (or emails) You Wish You Could Send.

Comment: I notice that you have some investigations on topics that really
matter but most of your stuff is verifying/debunking silly rumors.

Why don't you focus on items that matter. Like if Obamacare is going to
bankrupt the nation or help it, or what will high taxation do to the
country, or welfare programs do they help or hurt the country.

You know stuff like that.

Yeah, I'm sure snopes and Barbara will get right on it, you self-centered little s**t.

Oh I'm sure we could probably agree that welfare, taxation, and health reforms do actually matter more than hanging munchkins and bloody mary.

However, that's not the point of the site. Obama care is a policy, not an urban legend.

I think this comment could also have belonged under "In 6,000 words or less"

Even if you guys did choose to go in that direction I don't think that this tea-bagger would like the results. Snopes is already accused of being 'liburl shills' because they rely on factual information and truth. If they applied that to political speculation they would become factcheck.org; a group that was co-founded by a Reagen appointee but the wingnuts accuse of being a liberal front because, of something.

Comment: Please define and highlight the claims and the correction
commentary in some way, possibly with colors or type, that more clearly
separates the two!

Comment: There's an internet meme going around that says that the Snopes
email newsletter deliberately utilizes the Familiarity Backfire Effect to
perpetuate its existence by having to debunk info that it itself
disperses. Please debunk this by changing the phrasing in your email
newsletters.

Comment: Time is precious. Plz report what is true more than stories of what isn't true. I can appreciate debunking rumors.... but with the limited time we have, it would be great to get to the point with majority of reports being the ones that are "shocking truths!" The debunking is becoming a huge turn off for the audience. Thnx for your consideration.

Comment: How about changing the name of the category "OLD WIVE'S TALES" to
"FOLK TALES"? I happen to know that old wives aren't the only ones that
tell tales.

Or all what?

All of the above?

All you can eat?

All or nothing?

What? What? The suspense is killing me. I may have to.
