Donkey Punch is the most controversial British film since Trainspotting, with a view of humanity almost as low as its £1 million budget. A slick, chillingly brutal horror-thriller, it concerns four posh boys and three up-for-it northern girls who get together on a luxury yacht off Majorca to take drugs and film themselves having group sex.

"It is meant to be a provocative film, to deal with things you wouldn't talk about at a dinner party," says [director Oliver] Blackburn, 36. "I'd never heard of a 'donkey punch' until my co-writer David Bloom told me about it but when we looked into it we realised it was this big urban myth, referenced in rap songs and a certain type of porn film.

I love how in the trailer, they make the donkey punch sound like it's this really wild exotic sex thing...when when you get down to it...it's PUNCHING SOMEONE IN THE HEAD. Gee, that killed someone, who'd have thought?

Reading the IMDB synopsis, you'd never peg it as "the most controversial British film since Trainspotting".



"After meeting at a nightclub in a Mediterranean resort, seven young adults decide to continue partying aboard a luxury yacht in the middle of the ocean. But when one of them dies in a freak accident the others argue about what to do, leading to a ruthless fight for survival."

A donkey punch occurs in the doggy style position when a man punches a woman in the back of the neck just before launch, increasing his pleasure by causing her muscles to involuntarily contract. It’s apparently an urban legend since it results in a broken neck.
