Yow!

Great googly moogly - 3.8 million a month!

Way to go, snopes. This is a valuable site and people know it.

Now I'm going to be more self-concious about my posts. If even a small fraction of those people is viewing the message boards, that's still an awful lot of people reading our posts.

I was wondering the same thing- Snopes, is it something you can tell? Like readership of the board versus actual people posting? I wonder what the lurker-to-poster ratio is?

And I noticed you've got the most hits of anyone there. More popular than religion, swinging, and geneology!

That's a sobering thought.

Sadly, it's probably too late for me and my reputation, then.

On the contrary, I think your reputation is likely ...

Oh wait, did you mean good reputation?

Never mind.

Canuck, FWIW, I find your snopes-personality to be fetching. I mean, despite a p*ssing contest with my ex-boss or Daisyslegs getting mentioned in a crime article, what kind of trouble can we possibly get in here?

Have you ever checked out the Who's Online page in the Quick Links? Right now there are 65 logged in members and 175 "guests". From my experience looking at this page, a 2-or-3 to 1 visitor to snopester ratio is normal.

I think most of those visitors must be to the main site, rather than to the message boards, but it does serve to remind us that our posting here is not nearly as private as we might like to think.
