This is BEAUTIFUL!!! She looks so happy & peaceful.

It's amazing that she looks so happy & some people can't even come to work, on a Friday, & crack a smile.

I haven't either personally but I do recall my grandparents telling how the wakes were commonly done in the home on the bed. And how at first it squigged me out to know that I had slept in the bed Grampa's Mom was laid out on.

That doesn't really look like her to me. Also there was no public viewing so if this is her that means it was at a private viewing and someone close enough to the family to have been there took the picture and then spread it around. I'm not sure how likely that is.

Considering she was an actress this may be a still from a show she was in. However the last one with the flash in the mirror would have been an outtake. Why would anyone take pictures at a funeral

The facial features are similar, and it's hard to tell body size in the pose. Or in some of the google images for that matter. Skin tone is extremely variable under changing lighting conditions.

The area is roped off and there is an obvious tissue box nearby. The flowers are a giveaway too. Since she was to be cremated it is possible the private viewing had her on the chaise.

OK, I found the website of the funeral home that handled her body. Based on the pictures in the online tour, it is at least plausible... http://www.williewatkins.com/willie.html

I don't see any reason why it couldn't be real. I think it's beautiful and dignified and a whole heck of a lot better then a casket! I'd go this route myself, if I had any say in the matter. Personally I think it's a much nicer way to say good-bye to a loved one.

As far as being Ms. King or not, I have no idea.

I have no idea it it's real or not, but there was an article a while back about a guy who was a Packers fan and had very specific instructions for his wake. He wanted to propped up in his favorite chair, with his Packers jersey on, his Packers blanket over his legs, a beer on the table and a TV with a Packers game on (on tape). Sounds a bit morbid, but people deal with death different ways.

My mother was buried with a fork in her hand (at her request) because of an old expression that stuck with her throughout her cancer ordeal: "Keep your fork, because the best is yet to come!"

I have no idea where that phrase came from. It's one we grew up with so I never gave it a second thought and figured it was a common one. You don't have to steal it, I'll give you your very own copy!

"You think you've got problems? Look at this picture, this woman is DEAD, and she's still smiling! She's not letting the whole being dead thing get her down at all! You should be more optimistic, like this dead lady."

I would have to say that the woman in the picture is not Yolanda King. The images I've found of Yolanda King show an older woman with a lighter complexion than the woman in the photos. And it doesn't seem that Yolanda King ever wore that particular hairstyle.

Not to mention don't they like have morticians who pose the dead body and load them full of chemicals? So is this an argument in favour of illicit drugs or what?

I was getting ready to post something similar.. I wasn't even sure what point they were trying to make.. That because some morticians posed a dead woman to have a smile on her face that we should all smile when we come into work or something? I mean how are the two even slightly similar?
