No, or Ohioans wouldn't be able to vote in the primaries.

I don't follow your logic here. Some states have general registration, and then at the primaries, the voters select the ballot of the party they want to have a say in (and usually if there is a primary run-off, they have to stick with the party they chose in the first round). But other states have registration by party, and the voters go to the primaries and are issued a ballot according to how they have registered. I am not seeing how you are saying that a party designation at registration would prevent Ohioans from voting in primaries.

The Ohio voter registration form does not include a field for the registrant to indicate a party affiliation:

"School killers are all Democrats" might be true.

But so is;
"Most school killers owned their guns legally, the few that didn't have the guns legally had easy access to unsecured legally owned guns."

In Ohio, you register as a member of a party by voting in that party's primary. Being a "registered Democrat" just means that the last time you voted in a party primary, it was the Democratic primary.

False flag operation. I think the shooters are registering as democrats before they go on the shooting spree.

See it's stupid both ways!!

Some of these people were political extremists who couldn't really be called conservative or liberal.

This article debunks some of the claims, or at least shows that they have no evidence.

I received an "updated" version earlier today:

---------------------

You just gotta love it. Can't argue with statistics. Or Democrats!

In 1863 a Democrat shot and killed Abraham Lincoln, President of the United States.

In 1881 a left wing radical Democrat shot James Garfield, President of the United States who later died from the wound.

In 1963 a radical left wing socialist shot and killed John F. Kennedy, President of the United States.

In 1975 a left wing radical Democrat fired shots at Gerald Ford, President of the United States.

In 1983 a registered Democrat shot and wounded Ronald Reagan.

In 1984 James Huberty a disgruntled Democrat shot and killed 22 people in a McDonalds restaurant.

In 1986 Patrick Sherril a disgruntled Democrat shot and killed 15 people in an Oklahoma post office.

In 1990 James Pough a disgruntled Democrat shot and killed 10 people at a GMAC office.

In 1991 George Hennard a disgruntled Democrat shot and killed 23 people in a Lubys cafeteria.

In 1995 James Daniel Simpson a disgruntled Democrat shot and killed 5 coworkers in a Texas laboratory.

In 1999 Larry Asbrook a disgruntled Democrat shot and killed 8 people at a church service.

In 2001 a left wing radical Democrat fired shots at the White House in a failed attempt to kill George W. Bush, President of the U.S.

In 2003 Douglas Williams a disgruntled Democrat shot and killed 7 people at a Lockheed Martin plant.

In 2007 a registered Democrat named Seung - Hui Cho shot and killed 32 people in Virginia Tech .

In 2010 a mentally ill registered Democrat named Jared Lee Loughner shot Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and killed 6 others.

In 2011 a registered Democrat named James Holmes went into a movie theater and shot and killed 12 people.

In 2012 Andrew Engeldinger a disgruntled Democrat shot and killed 7 people in Minneapolis.

In 2013 a registered Democrat named Adam Lanza shot and killed 26 people in a school.

One could go on, but you get the point, even if the media does not.
Clearly, there is a problem with Democrats and guns. No NRA member, Tea Party member, or Republican conservatives are involved.

SOLUTION: It should be illegal for Democrats to own guns. Best idea I've seen.

Seung-Hui Cho was not a US citizen and Virginia did not have party registration in 2007.

No, he was a member of the Know-Nothings. (That's when parties had more honest names. It's too bad we don't have, for example, "Tinfoil Hat Party", "The Non-Vertebrates", or the "Less Government Doing Things to Help Folks Party".)

Botching the job so badly that John Wilkes Booth had to kill Lincoln again two years later.

This was probably Reagan's fault, for visiting the psychiatric hospital where the perpetrator had been confined after shooting Reagan two years earlier.

Charles Guiteau, who killed James Garfield, was mentally unstable. Also, not that it really matters, but he was not a Democrat:
Quote:
In 1880, Guiteau adopted his final passion: politics. His cause became promoting the Stalwart faction of the Republican Party. In 1880, Republicans were split between the Stalwarts, who preferred to nominate Ulysses Grant for a third presidential term, and the Half-Breeds, reformers who favored the nomination of Maine Senator James G. Blaine.
{ snip }
Although Guiteau had written speeches in support of Grant, when Garfield became the nominee, Guiteau simply scratched Grant's name from his speech and substituted Garfield's.
{ snip }
He reprinted his speech entitled "Garfield vs. Hancock" (Hancock was the Democratic nominee for president), a cliche-filled stream of over-the-top arguments, including his suggestion that the election of Hancock was likely to produce a second civil war. In November, Garfield narrowly defeated Hancock, and Guiteau concluded that the ideas presented in his speech secured the Republican victory.
And, as most Americans know (or so I thought!), Guiteau then thought Garfield owed him a job.

While John Hinkley Sr. was a Republican I can't find any evidence that John Hinkley Jr. had any sort of political affiliations at all. Other than the author of that email most people know he was not motivated by Reagan's politics. In fact, he had previously stalked Jimmy Carter:
Quote:
Consciously or not, Hinckley began to emulate [Taxi Driver protagonist Travis] Bickle, accumulating an arsenal of weapons and fixating on Jodie Foster. Foster would not be his target, but his inspiration: To "rescue" her, he began to stalk Jimmy Carter during the 1979 presidential campaign.
Emphasis mine:

Is this a joke? With all the outright fabrications and idiotic errors it's hard for me to believe that this (the updated version) wasn't a parody. I did find it reposted on many other sites, however. In fact, I found this version on several sites that also gets the year of JFK's assassination wrong.

And yet none of these stalwart steely-nerved conservatives have ever foiled a shooting. Wonder why.

See I can make broad statements too.

Obviously it's because they didn't have enough guns.

Pshaw! The number of guns is irrelovent. GUNS DON'T KILL!

After reading this thread it should be apparent to all. GUNS DON'T KILL!

Every study on the matter proves this to be true! GUNS DON'T KILL!

It's those little projectiles that leave guns at a high rate of speed that kill.

Well, unless one cracks someone over the head with a gun hard enough to cause mortal wounds.

See, all this time I thought the local stores had bullet shortages because people were being nutty and stocking up on things due to over-exaggerated fears (like clearing the shelves of toilet-paper before a hurricane).

But, I think you might have something about this "guns don't kill people, bullets do." Clearly They are conspiring to subvert any debate of gun control by underhandedly and secretly practicing bullet control.
