I think I've mentioned before how the little fishy toy Ash has had since he was a kitten remains one of this favorites. He'll sometimes walk around the house with it in his mouth, making these cute little half-purr/half-meow sounds. I've tried many times to get good video of that, but in true cat fashion he seems to stop doing it as soon as I get camera in hand.
Well I finally managed to catch a little of it the other day. You might need to turn your sound up. |

![]() Gambit, my Border Collie/Coyote mix. If I had been 2 seconds faster, he would have been howling. BTW- someone remind my why I wanted him to start howling? ![]() Folly, my foster dog. Is there anyone near NC who wants the most perfect lab mix ever? She's just wonderful. |

![]() I've posted pics here years ago of our gorgeous Lab cross, Cassie. Sadly, she's now gone, having contracted a disease which resulted in a ruptured spleen. She was 13. This one was a few months ago, when she brought me this trophy from the seas. She absolutely loved the sea and swimming. |

My time at the dog park has been giving me a chance to appreciate the pups better - these are all handsome animals.

Thanks. We sure miss her. She had the perfect temperament to be much loved.
She was the first family pet that we had for a long time. Previous dogs had either died as young pups (parvo viruses) ran away (collie) or stolen (American cocker) We will get another dog, but not just yet. |

Condolences from me and my lab mix, 12 year old Charly. It is so hard to lose a much-loved companion. My pup also loves the water but on the prairies it is a little harder to find on a regular basis.

Cleo, who doesn't often pose for pictures. You can't see her deep blue eyes here, but it's a rare picture that doesn't have glowy laser eyes.

What a beautiful girl! I love that spot on her chin, and the teeny-tiny one at the bottom of her nose.

For those of you who may not have caught the letter I wished I could send, I introduce to you: Harry, our (probable) fifth cat.
Short background on Harry, his daddy remarried, and now has a 4 year old stepdaughter. Stepdaughter is very allergic to Harry to the point of hives and heaving and all that nasty stuff. They tried for six months to find another solution, but in the end it came down to DSD's health. D contacted DH who said "Sure, we'll foster and rehome him!" because D and DH have been friends for years. Unfortunately, DH forgot to ask Harry's age, and when he got here I said "He's a bit bony, D. How old is he?" "Oh, 10 or 11". ![]() I have trouble rehoming cats 2 years of age and younger! Harry will most likely end up staying here and joining the zoo. It took him a few days to come out from behind the toilet, but once he did, he's a total lovebug! Integration into the house will begin this evening. First I'll put him in the big kennel in my office so everyone can get used to him without him getting chased, for about an hour. Depending on how that goes, I'll let him out into my office, and we'll go from there. ![]() ![]() ![]() ETA: I now have three solid black cats in my house. I think my quota of good luck is about to go into the negatives

10 or 11 is on the young side to be bony for reasons of age -- IME age-related thinness doesn't usually show up until 15 or later. You might want to check with a vet.; though determining age in adult cats is apparently quite difficult. |

He's not on the best food. I'm in the process of switching his diet and I'm confident he'll gain up what he needs. He's in perfect health, otherwise. He's very solidly muscled, just with very low fat.
