Comment: Thankyou, for the work you have put into making this information
available. I fit into the category of sceptic. It's the only thing that saved me from many of the scams your site has reported. But I was always left wondering if there would ever be the slightest confirmation that my instincts were correct. You gave me that. |

Comment: Just want to say I love your website and really admire and
respect the work everyone at snopes.com does. Your research and the depth of your explanation of Internet rumors must be tedious and difficult at times and I just want to let you know that it is appreciated. Good job! Keep it up. Happy holidays. |

Comment: Best real true site on the internet/world wide web ever!
Use it constantly to straighten out friends/acquaintances who are gullible users, or just plain gullible. Absolutely invaluable resource in the (far too many) months leading up to the recent election, as I am sure it will continue to be for navigating the sea of misinformation to be sluiced around the internet in the political discourse to come. Thank you, thank you, thank you |

Comment: To the editors of Snopes:
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Your website and all the research you do is greatly appreciated. The rumor mill and the nuts out there who want to create discontent and chaos by sending out outright lies and propaganda have met there match in the work Snopes does. I have used your research to send my family members your work and dispel the outright lies of some of these bogus emails circulating the web. I am so grateful for your investigative work. Again, thank you. |

Comment: I LOVE your article Reindeer Games! I was looking to see if the
part about Alaska Fish and Game was true. I got my answer and a more. The article is a fantastic mix of scientific evidence, humor, and respect for children's belief. Well done! |

Comment: Just wanted to say "thank you" for the information you provide on
this site. So many times we can be "duped" whether by email, cell phone, home phone, etc. The state of the economy is such that all of us at some point in time would love that chance to "get rich quick." Thank you that when those "false" opportunities come up, I no to come here and check them out ahead of time before I make a big mistake. God bless and have a wonderful Christmas! |

Comment: Wow. You not only nearly 'got' me with the Mr. Ed story,
but just as I was about to forward it on, you redeemed yourself with the False Authority explanation! I was again trying to educate neighbors and friends who were passing along the WalMart "Cash Back" story. I have proselytized checking out rumors before forwarding like . . . forever . . . and always tell folks to first "check snopes.com first". I cannot tell you the number of times you have potentially saved embarrasment to friends and family by at least letting them know they had passed bad information (so they have the first opportunity to retract and correct it). And then I noticed "Lost Legends". And then I got curious. And I read "Mr. Ed was a Zebra". And I composed an EMail to tell same friends and family and neighbors "hey ... look at this". But I had this nagging feeling ... how could this possibly be true? So before I hit "Send" I did just a little more research. And I found your story on False Authority. Brilliant. Absolutely Brilliant. You guys Rock. Always have. Even more so now. |

Comment: Thanks for your site - I really hate people junking up my inbox
with stories they think I should know about. While some are initially based in some little truth, most just end up being outright falsehoods and are too much like the rest of the daily spin called news I already have to read up on to determine what is real and what is not. I have asked my correspondents to take my name off their "mass email list" - don't want to block them - to no avail. However, forwarding the debunking that you do has worked every time! I get to keep my friends, I just don't get the garbage anymore! And maybe they are even going to your site before automatically forwarding the junk! Thanks again for being the fact checkers for the world! |

Comment: Thank you for quickly addressing the rumors stemming from the
Sandy Hook school tragedy, especially the hideous rumor that children wrote notes to their parents. My girlfriend's 11 year old daughter was really upset by that report and while I told her I doubted it was true, seeing an independent research source like Snopes debunk it was reassuring to her. I use your website as a reference all the time and appreciate the hard work you do to keep it running. Thanks! |

Comment: Thank you for being a resource for keeping people honest. We
trust our friends, but should we trust our friends of friends? Many of us re-post something or forward something, because we trust the person that posted or sent it, but we all need to keep each other honest and so some research prior to pressing that forward or share button is in order. Thank you for providing an unbiased and factual service to us all. |
