Since the money goes to the Humane Society, we took Trixie and Tripper in to have their photo made with Santa today. When we get the photos back, I'll post one. Our dogs got an outing, and now Santa can get some therapy.

No, no, no. You've got it all wrong. She's not attacking you, she's attacking the evil blanket moles who crept into the bed to eat your toes while you were sleeping. She's protecting you.

When DD's crazy tortie Rin was a kitten, I'd move my foot around to tempt her, then once she'd pounced, I'd raise my leg and (gently) toss her into the air. She'd come right back for more.

One time I did it it a bit harder than I meant to (but still not hard enough to hurt her). Our late lamented Toulousie was sitting by my head, and while I couldn't track Rin's path from my position, I could see his head moving uuuup and ooover to watch her. He seemed quite impressed (well, as impressed as he ever got, anyway).

Rin still came right back for more.

Many of you no doubt remember the cat with kittens I fostered and bottlefed about six months ago. Once Spice (momma) was spayed, I returned her to her family because they had been going on and on and on about how she was their baby, and they didn't know what they would do without her, etc etc etc.

6 weeks later, they called me up and claimed that they didn't know what I'd done to her, but she was now a violent, aggressive little bitch who would attack and bite the other animals, the kids, and themselves indiscriminately, and they wanted her gone, asap. This angered me because while she was here she was nothing but sweet tempered and snuggly. She had also had no contact whatsoever with any of my other animals. So I drove out there to pick her up and brought her back here. When I walked in the house I was curious, and took her out of the carrier and put her down on the floor in the middle of three other cats, and three dogs who immediately piled on the newcomer. Her response to that? To lay down and take a nap.

Oh yes. Vicious animal right there.

I contacted a few rescues to try and place her, but everywhere around here was full from the storms that hit the gulf and all the animal shelters being evacuated to this area. Mid September I was finally contacted back and told that they could "try to place her" but had no guarantees. I relayed this to DH who looked a little sad and said "I dunno, I'm pretty used to her now!".

TLDR: We have a 4th cat again.

Spice likes to watch the computer as I play games:

She also, for some reason, loves to sleep right up against the litterbox:

She's a total lapcat:

So... much... floof.

And that first picture is crying out for the "Soon" caption.

Isn't she though? The only problem I have with her is that her former people let her jump and walk on whatever she wanted, and she's broken a few things on my shelves. We're working on that.

Possible translation from the Cat:

"I liked it better at LadyLockeout's. I wanna go back there. I don't like you people any longer. Get away from me!"

"Oh, good. They finally figured it out and took me where I want to be. Now I can relax."

She'll jump up on the nearest high thing and launch at you, if she wants attention.

Vicious, violent, killer attack cat here. Be warned!

Love all the gorgeous animals in this thread!

My kitties get along pretty well, but they're not best friends, so it's rare and delightful to have both of them sitting on the bed with me.

Oh, I wanna see the beautiful floof Spice, but my computer is down and the work machine has evil "child safe" software that blocks some pictures. Oddly though, I can see Veruca's cuties just fine.

Just want to tell you Lady L, that I think you and your hubby got a deal, and that Spice is a very wise cat.

If Ash can tolerate the presence of another cat, I might be getting a second one.

If so, pictures will be posted as soon as possible to avoid any possible splodiness.

Your Spice looks a lot like my Molly .. somewhat similar story too!

I found her hanging out around my workplace.. I ended up taking her home [the reception desk had my phone # in case her owners claimed her]. No one ever claimed her.. 6 months later I tracked down the owner via microchip (phone number was disconnected, so hard to find them). They took her back, but then 6 months later I found her outside my workplace. Again. They had dumped her on a neighbor across the street (apparently their child was allergic)! So I brought her home... again.

This is my mom's cat, Bonnie, who apparently has started going around with her tongue sticking out most of the time.

Minstrel - is she an older cat? I've heard the tongue-poking is a habit some kitties develop in old age.

Either way, it's ludicrously adorable.

Hmm. I know Bonnie's at least a middle-aged cat, but I'm not really sure how old she is--she was a rescue. But yeah, the little tip of tongue sticking out is just too much!

And for more cute, here is Pasha the Space Dog protecting the apartment complex from the Evil Space Squirrels From Space!
