He needs to incorporate that line into a song.

At least a limerick.
He feels like a terrible failure. Despite all the things that they'll tell ya, Rod never has treasured Or orally pleasured Even a solit'ry sailor. |

It seems like an oddly specific denial though....

Well of course he never pleasured a solitary sailor. He only works in groups.

It obviously goes to the tune of "I never promised you a rose garden."

This is the first I've heard of it. However, when I first found Snopes, one of the first UL's that I'd already heard that I saw debunked was the one about the contents found after pumping his stomach.

Rods account seems odd too. Why would Rod and his wife ask a sexually promiscuous acquaintance during a tour promoting a sexual provacative rock star to share a room with their (her biological and his through marriage) preadolescent child while their two other children roomed with them? Doesnt make sense. |

I seem to remember hearing the rumor in 1978-79 specifically, but it's possible I may be misremembering. It's also possible that Stewart himself may be misremembering the timeline as well, or that Tony Toon was not the original source of the rumor as he believes him to be.

It depends on where the emphasis is. He may never have orally pleasured even a single sailor, or he may never have orally pleasured even a single sailor, or che may never have orally pleasured even a single sailor.
More information is needed. Dropbear |

Maybe it needed to be that specific? < raises eyebrow>

That's exactly how I remember it as well--I was watching Stewart sing it on TV with a girl I knew in late 78 to early 79 when she told me the story. I lost contact with the girl after that so I'm sure that's when I heard it and who I heard it from.

This was probably one of the first ULs that I ever heard. I'll agree with the others that it was around 1978-79. It was a soccer team when I heard it. He hasn't denied orally pleasuring a soccer team, has he?

Rod Stewart actually denied the urban legend about getting his stomach pumped in an interview for VH1 "Behind The Music".
The urban legend about Rod Stewart was very popular in the late '70s. Then I heard the same story make the rounds about many other rock and pop stars. |

While promoting is new autobiography he also mentioned using cocaine in suppository form as a friend of his developed a hole in his septum from snorting cocaine. But if it can cause a hole in a septum, what does it to to the anus/rectum?
