Forwarded email spews venom in inbox

Hateful, venom-spewing, grossly inaccurate and totally false emails are again landing in my mailbox on a regular basis. This happened the first time on the eve of Election Day 2008 when a pack of lies about President Barack Obama being a Muslim and a terrorist arrived in my inbox from what I took to be a reasonably sane friend. Horrified, I quickly checked snopes.com and found the urban legend there labeled with a big, red “false” determination. Happy to undo this evil, I forwarded the snopes page to my friend and asked her to forward it on to whomever else she had sent it.

She wrote back saying she hadn’t had time to research it, to which I replied, if you don’t have time to research it, you don’t have time to send it.
