Someone submitted this video as proof of the claim that live dogs and cats are being used as shark bait by fisherman on Reunion Island. I think the video is a hoax produced by intercutting shots of kittens being dunked in water and dangled from wires with completely unrelated footage of ocean fishing activity. What do you think?
(I find the video even more suspect because the URL displayed at the end doesn't lead to a genuine web site, but simply redirects the user to a landing page for advertisements): |

Excessive kittens due to global warming? Um... wha?

Excessive kittens are, I'm pretty sure, caused by unaltered cats having sex a lot.

It's possible the cats are surviving winter better, as are their prey, causing a population explosion.
Eta: we've had a boom of skunks around here. |

Yeah, the poor sharks can't get to them unless they're in the water.

pretty bad fishing too. You need to get way more hook into the bait. The way they're "hooking" those cats would make it far to easy for them to break of the hook, or for the fish to steal the bait and swim away.
