An acquaintance on facebook posted this.
http://www.naturalnews.com/036536_Ja...alse_flag.html Basically the link claims that since the suspect had studied neuroscience he was probably the subject of some experiment where the gub-ment brainwashed him. Furthermore the whole thing was probably staged because of that upcoming UN resolution on guns that nuts claim will ban guns in the USA. |

Comment: I have seen a rumor on Twitter since the Aurora shooting that
says "Batman costumes now banned in US. Guns, ammunition still not. Because (all together now) Guns don't kill people. Batman costumes kill people," which makes it sound like a nationwide ban or a government ban. (See tweet from twitter user @everetttrue on July 22, which has been retweeted over 22,000 times as of July 23 at 8:30pm EST). I think some theaters have banned costumes, but it can't be a nationwide ban. See also http://www.columbiamissourian.com/st...ffect-locally/ |

I don’t see how the idea of banning Batman costumes makes a lick of sense given that our shooter wasn't dressed up as Batman in the first place. Some theaters (AMC namely) has banned customers from wearing costumes in the theatre but that’s it.
The whole phrase “guns don’t kill people, Batman costumes kill people” doesn’t make any sense whatsoever and is just dumb. At best it was the victims who were dressed as Batman! |

And actually AMC sent out a press release yesterday clarifying that they are only banning face concealing masks and fake weapons, not costumes per se.

There's a good example of this in the photos of Ronald Reagan being shot. Reagan looks up and over towards the sound, and it is clear the agents have realised what is happening as one already is moving forward to push him down.

...and Reagan famously joked to Nancy as he was being wheeled through the hospital (IIRC), "Honey, I forgot to duck."
A friend of mine told me today that he'd heard some cities are rushing to pass laws banning wearing costumes to movie theaters. (Which, of course, would have done nothing at all to prevent this crime, since the guy entered through an emergency exit he kicked open.) Yep, let's ban everything but the actual guns.... |

I heard somewhere (no cite) that guns were already banned in the theatre. I agree that banning some costumes or costumes in general doesn’t make much sense though, but I don’t see any large scale banning of guns, not that it would stop a guy from breaking in to the theatre.

In many states, cities are not allowed to pass any gun prohibitions. Only if a state permits home rule can a city ban guns.

I saw something online I can't now find about how the Colorado shooting revealed how "men and women don't change no matter what feminists say" and that many men died as human shields for women. I wish I could find it.
There was also something about a woman who survived being shot in the head because of an undiagnosed brain defect that acted as a "channel" that directed the bullet through her brain to the other side of her head and left her largely unharmed compared to what otherwise might have been. I think someone told me that story directly. |

But that wasn't what the article was about. It was about how God wants the women to seek protection from the men and this just proves it. It had stories about three or four men to illustrate.

My point was that it's much easier to act as a human shield when you're bigger and stronger than the person you're trying to protect. How many women present in the theater that day were physically capable of pushing their male partners onto the ground and fully covering them with their bodies?

I know I've heard of at least one instance (and I assume there are many more I haven't heard) of a mother acting as a human shield around her child--in fact, it was in the story about the man who fled the theater, leaving his infant behind. So, yeah, men are inherently protectors...or not.
