Friday 13th: omens of bad and good luck

I concluded my trip to Las Vegas by flying out late on Friday the 13th. I actually got back sometime Saturday.

I forgot about it being Friday the 13th until SO mentioned it that day, but it had been just about the worst week of my life. It could have been worse, but not by a whole lot. We were supposed to have gotten married on Tuesday (finally, after 11 years together), but cancelled (thankfully not because of anything between me and SO- we're actually closer than ever). From a little thing like a belly-button infection I discovered the day before we left, to an incident after which I have chosen never to speak to anyone in my family again, and many other problems along the spectrum, this was a hellish week. To top it all off, we both got the flu and are fighting that now.

I'm sure it being Friday the 13th isn't the cause, but it'd be nice to have something to blame this on.

My sister was born on Friday the 13th and is insanely proud of that fact. When she got engaged, she immediately went to the calendar and looked up all the Friday the 13th dates for the next two years (she ended up choosing last April).
