Comment: I hate to tell you this but that Fart in the Dark story is true
and I was in the back seat. The guys name was Dailey and the girls last
name was Harrison. It happened in 1968 in Jersey City NJ. I will never
forget it.

Comment: I can confirm the "Le-A" rumor article. My wife, a clinician in
Springfield, IL, has a patient named "L-A" that is pronounced "Ladasha."

I hope this sighting helps!

Comment: Someone claimed that her friend's friend's relative had an
incident where they put sunblock on and while using their smartphone, the
sunblock caused the phone to melt.

Comment: This actually happened to a friend of mine in 1998, that is to say, I got
the story from the horses mouth, first hand. A lot of alcohol had been
consumed before the error was made, but it happened.

Comment: you claim that the bono thing about him saying "every time I clap
my hands a child in africa dies" and an audience member shouting "stop
doing it then" as false.

I know for a fact it's true cos a friend of mine was at that very concert.
It was in Scotland.

Comment: Salt of the Mirth. I can personally attest, as a science teacher
since 1994, that I have had this question asked by a student back in the
late 90s during Bio. A friend of mine has the same question posed last
year during a Bio class as well. NO myth, not legend. Absolutely true.
I can only guess that it has occurred many times over in bio, anat, or
health classes.

Comment: While I was reading the stories about the
airline passenger getting an upgrade I read the story about the "princess"
vs the "queen" regarding the tray table. I'm not sure about that
particular story, but I do know one similar that is true because it
happened to a friend and co-worker of mine. Simon (I'll withhold his last
name for privacy reasons, but if you want to verify the story let me know
and I'll ask his permission for you email him), told me that on one flight
he worked on there was a lady from Saudi, who when the plan was going to
decend refused to put her seat beat on. She made the claim that in her
country she was a Princess and wasn't going to take orders from him. He
replied to her that in his country he was considered a Queen, and
outranked her, so she had to follow his orders and put her seatbeat on.
Which she did.

I didn't know that there was a similar story on here, but knowing Simon I
know that he is credible and not making up this story when he told me. I
can't remember when he said this happened to him, but he told me of it in
2007, when he was working as a nurse, he changed careers about 15 years
prior.

Comment: Amazing how urban rumors are sometimes also true, you know?

I just read the urban myth about cats attacking a man's dangly parts and
had to contact you. Maybe the accounts listed on your site are myths, but
I know one man, my ex-husband, who had that happen.

We were having sex in the middle of the day one day shortly after our
first child was born. We had quite a few cats at the time (21 to be exact)
and we were both totally naked. He was getting up quite a head of steam
when he suddenly jumped, let out a word that isn't printable and whipped
around. The cat behind him, between his legs, went flying. Apparently she
thought his dangling parts were a pretty good cat toy. But only that one
time

Comment: In regards to your entry regarding Racial Language-

"the Le-a" story, I am aware of something similar to this. My wife is
from Jamaica and she did have a class-mate named La-a (Ladasha). I can
state with certainty that there are truly cases of someone being named
La-a.

Blow Your Top

Comment: Commenting on the cactus/spider article: I knew a woman who
purchased a cactus and the skin started to move. Baby spiders were
hatching and her home had to be be treated. She called the store where
she purchased the plant and they told her to
leave her home. This is fact. I do not understand why your report is
false. it makes me question the reliability of any
of your reports.

Comment: Burundanga is TRUE. I personally know a victim of this drug.
His will was completely taken away. It actually happened three times to
him and the last time, he has become legally crazy.

It is not an urban legend. It is truth and many people fall victim to
this drug where they get robbed from their bank accounts, taken to their
homes to loose anything of value and sometimes losing organs.

It is in the Colombian news... not just email stories. You might want to
do a little more research on this.

Comment: Your article about a man losing some digits from his right
hand while using a power lawn mower to trim the tops of his hedges is
true. I know the man. His name is Huey Long and it happened at his
residence in the Norfolk, VA area. He sued the maker of the mower (Sears I
believe) for not having a warning label not to attempt to use the mower as
a hedge trimmer. Huey and I were in the same Navy squadron based in San
Diego prior to his injury.

Comment: I beg to differ with you on the tax break you say is not true. I
have heard it directly from the horses mouth, so to speak. I have
befriended 2 separate individual who broke free from the pattern
established by our government to a certain group( Starts with an A) They
chose to get their citizenship and pay taxes as all Americans are suppose
to. They were disowned by their families. They stated that our government
gives them enough $ interest free and they are tax exempt for 7 years.
After the 7 yr period is up they pass the business on to the next in line
and the tax free ride continues forever. They had no reason to lie, if
anything, if that statement was true that would be worse. They still are
running small stores but pay their taxes because they like the U.S.A.
Sorry to say the rest of their families don't feel the same way. Would
love to know where you got the answer you have because I have been asking
it of lawmakers, politicians, tv personalities and anyone I can think of
and have never gotten a response.Who did you ask? Or do you own a party
store and are of (A) descent??

Comment: Regarding your story on Le-a (pronounced Ledasha), I would refer
you to Houston County, Georgia (Warner Robins) where there is, indeed a
child named La-a (slightly different) that she insists is pronounced
"Ladasha." She is now in high school (should be Northside High School.)

Obviously this in no way confirms your existing story, but it does lend
credence to the overall theory of names and pronunciations.
