Life is good for this little grey kitty! He's on the recliner (the best seat in the house!), he's sitting on the newspaper (nice and crinkly!), and he has The Fishy (greatest cat toy EVAR! ZOMGWTFBBQ!!!).

I woke up this morning to a weird scraping noise and couldn't figure out what it was except that a cat was probably doing it. I got up to investigate and Danzig came out from under the bed with a plastic clothes hanger stuck around his body. I don't know where he found it because when I was putting laundry away last night I ran out of hangers with one shirt left to put away. Unfortunately I did not get a picture because I was groggy and he seemed like he wanted my help more than documentation of his embarassment. He is not a slim cat, either, I don't know if I could easily get a hanger around him if I was trying to.

Now I'm kind of hoping he does it again so I can get a picture, I'm really regretting my failure to do so this morning.

She got a tin of fancy grade sardines the other day. She was a very happy kitty.

She's still iffy on this whole "kitten" thing though.

This is my Pixel kitty with her bandaged ear and cone of shame. At some angles I see the bandage as a unicorn horn and think "poor shamed uni."

Aw. Poor bandaged kitty. She seems like she's still in the "why, why would you do this to me" stage, and hasn't yet reached the plotting revenge stage--or maybe she just hides it well for photos. No photographic evidence....

What happened to her ear?

We're not sure. I noticed her ear was swollen and warm on Sunday. We took her to the vet on Monday. They drained it and put the compression bandage on. They said a relatively small injury can break just the right small vessel in a cat's ear and the blood will fill in between the two layers. Hopefully, the bandage will allow it to heal otherwise she'll have to have surgery.

The picture was just after she got home on Monday so she was definatly in the denial stage.

Poor Pixel kitty. The bandage and cone of shame must make it hard to walk through walls.

We once had a GSD and a litter of newborn kittens in the house. The kittens were the size of the dog's nose, and she was terrified of them.

She's been doing that for 10 years and has a purr you can hear from clear across the room. When she wants scritches she gets scritches. One way or another. When she yanks on my hand like that, she does it with force. It's not a request, it's a demand.
