This Cracked.com article lists 5 hoaxes, the truth behind them, and the reasons people believed them. Surprisingly, none of the hoaxes were in the Snopes.com archives when I checked.

I remember the IE one was discussed on the boards, but I've never even heard of the rest of those.

False news stories aren't automatically urban legends... I guess snopes would only deal with them if lots of emails started arriving.

I am pretty sure I saw the one about the guy prosecuted for eating wildlife to survive his crash in the woods here.

I remember the IE and the hunting one, specifically (or variants thereof). |
