Have you ever put Carmex on your lips and then thirty minutes later craved more? Could Carmex be addictive? Some say it contains fiberglass and salicylic acid for the purpose of continually drying out users’ lips.

I had a boyfriend who said it was made so that you would need to reapply all the time. I thought he was full of bull-pucky.

SO claims that I am "addicted" to Carmex. He frequently calls me a "Carmexican".

Total bunk. I have a small jar of Carmex that I picked up somewhere on sale years ago, and I save it as medication of last resort, when my lips are cracked and sore, and regular lip balm sticks aren't enough. i apply it in the evening before bed time and wake up in the morning with my lips completely healed. Whatever they put into it, it works, and it is most definitely not addictive.
