If the letters in white are the ones that got added for that turn, then the last row previously contained the words "JO" and "GLED" before the extra G was added. The WWF dictionary linked earlier doesn't like either of those as legit words.

I forgot about that. That does make it harder, but it's still very possible.

Ah. I just didn't get how that dictionary worked.

50 point bonus you say. Does this apply even if some of your tiles are wildcards? I have two wildcards and lots of easy letters in my current game, so I can very easily make a word out of all my tiles. I never considered it, because without the 50 point bonus it wouldn't be the best use of them.

Yeah, the 50 point bonus is for using all your tiles, regardless of what they are.

Shenanigans. What letters could have been played to make that word? You can only play 7 letters at a time.
Can you claim a triple word score or other bonus that has already been used? I was under the impression that one the bonus square had been used, it doesn't get used again. |

A I Z I N. Hence two letters left.

Indeed, the other letters were already on the board from other words.

Huh? Either you guys are talking about something else, or you're confused. The letters that were played last are the letters in white (CCPULZG). The reason that there are 2 tiles in the player's rack is because there were only 2 tiles left in the game. Those are the tiles the player received after playing CCPULZG.

In Words With Friends, it's a 35 point bonus. It's 50 points in Scrabble.

My guess that videoguy is right: somebody saw this play on lexical word finder and copied it, probably with photoshop.
But I will point out that with an extremely large amount of games played, very unlikely things actually become pretty likely. |

I still think this is a setup or a fake in some way, the game is an exact duplicate already on the internet. It could be a valid game, but the odds are not in favor of it happening in a natural setting without cooperation at the least. |

It is possible to add "IZING" onto "CONCEPTUAL". Is that what you meant? That would not be worth 1469 points though. Only about 200 or so. |

Now I can see it. The letters used were C C P U L Z G. They are in white and the existing letters are black.
But my question hasn't been answered. Can a bonus square be counted twice? |

EDIT: Well, they are counted twice for the same play, when two words intersect at one of them. Maybe that's what you're asking. Five of those seven letters are on bonus squares, BTW. Last edited by videoguy; 14 April 2012 at 07:34 PM. |

I don't know about WWF, but in the board gaming world (and since this is basically a board game, even if played on smartphones) contests of the kind "get the highest score for the green player after 3 moves" or suchlike are commonplace and usually explicitely allow for you to let all players work on the same goal with all chance events going the way they like it. So, depending on context, this may not be "cheating" at all.

I don’t think that anyone doubts that if this happened it was set up by two players deliberately - you can do that in WWF and Scrabble (to select your opponent). If two friends can play ear bother deliberately, there is nothing stopping them from colluding.

Is Ear Bother like a pass-the-earworm game?
