Do you have the "Pirates and Nobles" expansion? I just added it last weekend. I like some of the new stuff, but in some ways it's actually made the game less fun. For example, the daily tasks for some characters now sometimes require you to interrogate someone using the new torture chair, a process I find beyond tedious.

I finished the DLC for Assassin's Creed: Revelations and it was just as tedious all the way through. There are a few more achievements that I could probably get but it's too dull to bother... at least, unless I'm feeling particularly bloody-minded.

It does contain a vaguely interesting but not terribly surprising plot point which helps explain the end of AC: Brotherhood (spoiler: Lucy was a Templar agent, and although Desmond didn't know that, Subject 16 did. Since Subject 16 was influencing Desmond's thoughts, he presumably took over momentarily and got Desmond to kill Lucy as revenge). It's not communicated in any interesting way though - just a few random bits of voice-over and one or two disembodied emails that you find.

And the ending where you fall through a flock of seagulls in some clouds is almost quite pretty. Probably because of the dullness of the rest of the game, though. You know I said you start on a small, very dull island (the Animus Island from the main game)? Well, subject 16's memories loop, so you end up back on the island as well. Except the second time you think "Hm, this island is quite pretty, and a nice interesting break from the hours of grey concrete I've just been looking at". That's almost clever, to make you realise how hellish Subject 16's existence must be. It's a shame they had to subject you to part of that hell to do so, though...

The release date for BioShock Infinite has finally been announced! Out on October 16. The trailers I've seen have been awesome so I can't wait to give Irrational my money. [Fry voice] Take my money! [/Fry voice]

Bonsai Kitten

Minecraft just got an update that adds cats and ocelots. Somebody then made a self-sustaining cat fountain.

Holy cats, it's FULL OF CATS!!

Since sitting at the computer for periods of time over 45 mins is getting impractical for me with my illness, I recently got a few PS3 titles to play. Space Marine(like the Warhammer "world" but the game is so buggy driving me crazy) and Assassin's Creed. Loved Assassin's Creed so much recently got the second one. I really like the combination of history(especially the background capsules),puzzle solving and building stuff up along with the fighting aspect.
I wish they'd do one in India during the time of the British Raj with the Thuggee as part of the storyline.

They just announced that Assassin's Creed III will be set during the American Revolution.

While it's an interesting time period, I wonder how much this will change the parkour elements of gameplay. Wasn't there a pretty distinct lack of tall structures and building congestion in Colonial America?

I'm about 3/4 of the way through Kingdoms of Amalur but have decided I am going to trade it in on the Fallout:NV complete edition.

The combat is really fun but the rest of the game is so, I don't know, flat? All the elements are there. The back story is not bad, there are pretty things to look at and there's lots to do but it feels very 'produced'. Like it was assembled from a manual and prepared very carefully but bloodlessly. Like a model airplane assembled and painted exactly according to the instructions.

I'll keep my save game and maybe wait for it to turn up on the 2nd hand shelves for $20 at the end of the year.

Ya, know, I'm having that problem, too. At first, I was like "wow, this is just awesome" and now, it's like "meh"...like I've done it all before. Back to Fallout NV myself, (got an incomplete save game from my 2nd time playing), until ME3 comes out.

The articles I read implied there would be quite a lot of wilderness scenes. Thinking about it, there was a part of Brotherhood where you ended up riding in the back of a cart and shooting attacking horsemen with a prototype Gatling gun - maybe they'll turn the whole thing into Red Dead Redemption!

I'm working on my multiplayer skills on the ME3 demo. Still trying to unlock some of the more advanced guns and classes.

Yea.. I guess they need to pad things as much as possible until the inevitable "modern day" version but considering we are all ready for them to change things up from following Europy guy to following somebody else you'd think they'd go for like China, or Japan (granted ninjas have kinda been 'done'), or India, or North-Africa/Middle East, South America.. Something.

Or if they have to do it in America do it in a city during like the industrial revolution. Tons of buildings around, new and interesting weapons as a result of technology changing, everything from crime bosses to corrupt politicians, good stuff.

Now I will say I've liked all the games thus far, I think they have great mechanics and an interesting enough storyline to keep my attention, but I hope they have an interesting new world cause traipsing around medieval Europe (I know, some sections take place in parts of the middle east but still) with traditional fantasy weapons (which I imagine everybody eschews for the double-hidden blade anyways) is starting to get stale.

For me I'm still tooling around with the new version of Dwarf Fortress (in certain areas the rain can cause you to melt, and there are proper zombies, werewolves, and vampires which can infect others (and vampires will try to lay low in your fort feeding off people), not to mention lots of other features and upgrades. That said heavily zombie infested areas may as well be impossible, zombies sometimes get suped up special abilities which lead to a zombie bluejay ramming one of my dogs and knocking every tooth out of its head and a zombie dwarf (formally one of mine) that was able to run faster than any creature I've ever encountered.. I like a challenge but these are insane.

As for more mainstream games, I'm playing Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn (Wii), got it for Christmas. I'm a big fan of the older Fire Emblem games and while I wish they'd kept the 2D battle graphics (cause the 3d they used doesn't hold up at all, I'd much prefer "good" 2D animation than "Eh.." 3D animation..) the game itself is pretty good. I like the battle system, the story is interesting, and its hard.. Its been a while since I've played a game I actually felt was difficult and even on normal some levels of this game are rough (though granted I never allow any of my people to die.. Oh yea if a character dies they die for good, no resurrection.. If its a main character its game over, if its not you keep going but they are gone.. I cannot allow that..).

Was debating picking up the new Donkey Kong game too, if its any good. Got a target giftcard burning a hole in my pocket.

From what I've gathered from the BioWare forums, the multiplayer demo server is closing today, and whatever you've unlocked in the demo will NOT carry over to the full, purchased game.

Yup, just closed a few hours ago (between noon and 3:30 pm Pacific), but I'd burned through most of the limited use items I'd racked up, since I knew it was coming.

I was mostly just trying out as much as I could. Also screaming "How do you like it when I do it to you!?!" when I managed to tag a Phantom with a melee attack from my Krogan Soldier.

Just got an email a few hours ago from Amazon saying that my copy had shipped.

I got Batman: Arkham City today. Looks great. It seems pretty large, too. I've played it for three hours or so and it says I'm only 2% of the way through...

Arkham City is awesome.

I thought I had finished the story at one point, and I was only about half way through.

I wish more games put this much thought into the single player mode.

I tried alchemy in Skyrim and it put me off so badly, I haven't picked the game up in days now.
