After his death in 1972, Hoover's reputation swiftly changed from that of a man of integrity and honour to one of a 'monster'. Is it time to revisit the charge sheet against him?

Sure, if you throw out the well documented abuses of power, the systematic blackmail, the obsessive sense of self preservation and the unimaginable hypocrisy, not to mention his complete failure in even attempting to go after organized crime, he wasn't such a bad guy at all!
