Disney's last words: "Kurt Russell"

Comment: I just read that the last thing Walt Disney wrote down before he
died was "Kurt Russell". I assumed this was just a myth but saw it
mentioned again on Wikipedia saying that Kurt Russell had actually seen
the paper but didn't know what it meant. I tried to find out more here but
didn't see it referenced anywhere. It could have simply been that Walt saw
Kurt as being responsible for Disney's great success in the early years
but conspiracy theorist's could also argue that there is a more sinister
meaning behind the doodle. Either way, it's interesting.

"Actor Kurt Russell has confirmed the last two words movie mogul Walt Disney wrote before he died were the "Escape From New York" star's name. It has long been rumoured that Disney penned 'Kurt' and 'Russell' just before he passed away in 1966. Russell was a child actor signed to the studio at the time. That certainly is unusual, and not a story I'd heard before. I wonder if Disney intended to write a longer sentence, with "Kurt Russell" being the first two words, but died before he could complete the rest of the sentence?

It's an interesting factoid, but I don't know why anyone would try to ascribe any significance to it, sinister or not. It appears that Disney spent the last two weeks of his life in a hospital dying of lung cancer and he was likely heavily medicated during that time, so if that was where it was written he probably just thought of Kurt randomly. He could have written just about anything, but if I were Kurt I suppose I would always wonder about it myself. Now if he had written "Goldie Hawn" on the same piece of paper, then I might be impressed.

Well if he did write it a prosaic reason could be that he was milling ideas for one of his movies and wrote Kurt Russell's name as a potential star for it, the One and Only Genuine Original Family Band or The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes, one of those movies.

For sinister reasons maybe Kurt Russell is his illegitimate son and was heir to the Mouse Fortune.

Mind you, I enjoyed those mindless kid films.
