A strange story of murder on the London Underground appeared on the Unexplained Mysteries forum in July 2007. It described an art student heading home from central London one night in an empty tube carriage. Initially there was only one other passenger, a man in his thirties, but after a few minutes three other people got on board, two men either side of a woman.
The student decided the trio looked like drug addicts and avoided eye contact with them. Then the thirty-something sat down next to her and started talking as if he knew her. He whispered ‘Get off at the next stop’ to her. She was unsure but did not want to be left on the train with the other three, so she followed the man off at the next station. As the train rattled out of the station the man explained to her that the woman in the trio was dead: he had seen the two men drag her on to the train with a pair of scissors stuck into the back of her skull. http://londonist.com/2010/11/fortean..._on_the_tu.php |

I'm sure this would have been all over the Metro (given away at stations) or Standard had it been real! Given the high level of alert on the underground and all the surveillance cameras the place would have been swarming with Transport Police.
I have sometimes moved carriages or got off the train and waited for the next one rather than be in a nearly empty carriage with people who make me feel uncomfortable and I'm sure this is what hits home in the legend. |

"... so she followed the strange, oddly-behaving man that she'd never met before off the train into the deserted station, where he murdered her."

So she followed the strange, oddly-behaving man into the deserted station where he told her all about the different classes of rolling stock and the number of rivets used in their construction ....

.... with a pair of scissors. She then "helped her drunken friend" onto the next train where he travelled round the Circle Line 5 times before being noticed by staff.

Which proves it's fake, because the Circle Line doesn't go in a circle any more. Hammersmith? Pah!
(I assumed this was going to involve the Circle Line from the thread title, actually. Haven't there been stories of actual corpses going round and round all day?) |

And do remember reading about someone dying of a heart attack whilst on The Tube- it took like half-an-hour for them to be found :/. It was death by natural causes though.
