That logo and colour branding wasn't used by BP until 2000 for a start

I'm pretty sure BP still had their old "shield" logo in 1999.

It's the bp logo, and underneath it says "We're bringing oil to American shores".

Well, it wouldn't be from 1999, because their logo looked like this then:
ETA: Gee, 5 people reply while I'm trying to get the image to work? |

And just to add gas on the flames (pun intended) - exactly what company would use that phrase in an advertising campaign. It would make far more sense to use the word "gas" since that's what most folks associate with when they see a BP logo - not oil. When Oil is used in marketing it tends to be referring to the commodity market.

Also, BP had been in the US before 1999.
Fail. |

If you don't see the picture, it might be because you're blocking items with the word "advertisements" with an ad blocker.

Comment: I live in Louisiana (New Orleans area) and have seen this picture
circulating for about two weeks, featuring a sign at a BP gas station. While I appreciate the irony, I am not convinced of its authenticity. Any way you can clear this up?

Maybe we should come up with another photoshopped image now that some time has passed. Who is the most creative person on here?
