'Miracle' as communion wafer becomes heart tissue

The Catholic Church in Poland is investigating claims of a miracle after a piece of communion wafer was reported to have been transformed into human heart tissue after falling into water during a mass.

However, how can one distinguish heart tissue just by looking at it? Is it marked like assemble-your-self furntiture with some sort of identifier?

Cardiac muscle has a different cell structure than other body tissues.

I don't think they are the only unique cells, though.

However, how can you tell just by looking at it? It's a rare person who can see muscle cells with the bare eye.

You'd need a microscope, but you'd be able to tell by the shape of the cell.

In this case, I would want proof the the host was not switched out by some prankster.

In another thread, several months ago, it was stated that withholding the communion host and examining it critically was one of the most offensive forms of blasphemy possible.

Now the church itself is doing it?

Context counts for something, you know. I think I know the thread you are talking about, and in that instance the person pretended to receive at a Mass and kept the host in secret. I also seem to recall it wasn't to critically examine it like a scientist.

In this case, the Church seemingly knew what was going on and was given the dignity of being asked for permission.
