Comment: Today was told by someone who visited Auschwitz concentration
camp that birds have never been recorded as flying over since WWII. Searched the internet & found this repeated - but from dubious sources. Is it true? Or another myth? |

Going to Auschwitz to look for birds probably isn't the usual thing. So maybe not recorded, but also, maybe not paid attention to.

Yes, I've been there and I can't say I was looking for birds. I don't consciously remember seeing any birds, and there aren't any visible in any of the photos I took, but it's silly to suggest there aren't any. It doesn't take a great deal of Googling to find a picture of a bird flying over Auschwitz:

Well that's sort of like saying, "Don't think about pink elephants," isn't it?
"Hey, don't look at this article about booze and strippers at Auschwitz!" Like I'm not going to look, and then HAVE to read it because booze and strippers at Auschwitz. You can't just not look at the horrible train wreck. The headline is a bit misleading, though. Unless I'm not reading correctly, the booze and strippers are before the tour of Auschwitz, not actually AT Auschwitz. They're off site somewhere. Slightly better, but still... pretty bad. |
